We never took the tour, so I do not know what I would review. I could not figure it out even after downloading the “Shakra” app. Maybe I will try a self guided tour again sometime because they did refund me. But it was hard because you have to explain why you did not use it.

This tour was everything I hoped it would be- informative, interesting, and, thanks to the magic of GPS, I didn’t have to do anything but enjoy. I would highly recommend. Also. If you have any troubles, don’t hesitate to call tech support. I actually couldn’t get it to work on my phone, we had to use my husband’s instead (which is the only reason this isn’t a five-star review) but tech support was very helpful and got us rolling quickly. The tour really is timed well and made the miles fly by.

On our 9 day trip around the Grand Canyon, we used the Shaka Guide driving app as kind of a fill-in for information as we drove around. We had used Shaka previously on a Kauai trip, and it seemed to work pretty well, especially the fact that by tracking your car via GPS, they know where to tell you to turn and stop. The North Rim tour worked pretty well, but there is a LOT of time between stops, so you listen to the Shaka music a fair amount. But, it still gives you the important information, especially about turns & stops. The only issue we had, was that twice we lost GPS signal, and had to close down the app and start all over, once we got back into a service area. But it always seemed to find where we were, and pick up the tour from that point. Some of the stories and corny jokes are just filler material I'm sure, but there is some good historical information in there if you pay attention. The site specific apps are not that expensive, to it is a good way to do a tour when you're spending a lot of time in the car.

We never got any audio with the tour, only the little arrow following the road on the screen. We restarted the program several times and still no sound. We were very disappointed.

Fun way to explore the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Script was well performed. Would do again. Thanks

Our tour was for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and were pleasantly surprised how accurately the app predicted turns and travel times. We decided to follow a suggestion about the first tour stop and were hooked after that. We had time to visit most of the tour stops and thought they made our visit more interesting. Instead of driving to the Grand Canyon as a destination, we got to experience many different viewpoints and vistas along the way while listening to narration and stories. It was a great value for the price. I would definitely recommend it.
