Please climb the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory yourself.Walking is about 10 to 15 minutes one way.A paid shuttle bus costs 300 yen one way (paid locally).

What To Expect
Michi-no-Eki - Shirakawago
You can tour the Gassho Museum attached to the roadside station Shirakawago. Take a look at the Gassho-zukuri structure before heading to Shirakawa-go. They also sell many souvenirs. Please note that we will be closed from December 29th to January 1st, so you will have to stop at a different location. *From April 2024, the drop-in time will be 15 minutes.
The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses
The World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go is open for free exploration. Stroll at your own pace and enjoy the countryside at your own pace. A delicious lunch full of mountain delicacies is included. *The total duration of the tour is 2 hours and 50 minutes, including lunch.

5.00I had a great time on this tour with Kuroda as the guide. He provided information on the bus in Japanese and English. He was both professional and funny! There was sufficient time to explore each own on our own. Lunch was excellent. Gokayama was a hidden gem that shouldn’t be missed!

5.00The weather was sadly very wet for our visit but both villages and the surrounding countryside were beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the set meal was delicious. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the villages and how the houses were constructed.

5.00Well organised trip with plenty of free time to explore each site. Very easy to find pick up location ie good directions. No wasted time picking people up. Lunch was delicious; an authentic set meal, seated in the floor. Both locations were interesting and worth visiting, so unique. Guide was very enthusiastic and provided a lot of information along the way. Bus was comfortable but had no toilet, however there was a rest stop. Recommend this trip as it would be hard to get to these places by yourselves.
