We are a Hawaiian owned local business here on the island of Oahu Providing High Quality lessons at affordable Prices. Our surf instructors are Native Hawaiian Waterman, born and raised in the islands. We have a deep connection to the land, sea, and culture passed down through generations.
At Hawaiian Boy Surf School, we love to share our knowledge and passion for surfing. Being safe in the water is our main concern! Prior to our surf lessons we do an aquatic assessment to see your water skills and capabilities and if needed, we provide a water safety coarse! We Guarantee to get you standing up and surfing your first wave!

5.00Preston did an awesome job teaching all levels. We had 5 in our group, ranging from 8 to 40 and everyone was able to get up and surf. He was great with kids and helped all of them have a blast. Great time, would book again.

5.00I had an amazing time during my surfing class with Kamalu! He was an incredible guide - super patient, encouraging, and really knew how to break things down in a way that made it easy to learn. Amazingly, he managed to get me up on the board during my very first waves, which I honestly didn’t expect at all. That feeling was unforgettable. This ended up being one of the best experiences of my life, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking about trying surfing.

5.00Such a fun surf lesson! Preston is a highly skilled instructor. I had never surfed before and didn’t expect to catch a wave at all - let alone so early in the lesson. He was patient, encouraging, and made the whole experience enjoyable.

5.00My wife and I took lessons (our first time ever) today from Preston. He was awesome. Gave clear, complete instructions. Was patient and kind. It was not a very long session but we (physically) couldn’t handle more (it wore me out). Yet in the short time we had, Preston had us both up on the board riding waves. (And at 60+ we are not spring chickens.) Thank you Preston!

5.00Friendly and very good instructions. Caught multiple waves and received great coaching tips after each one. Flexible on the scheduling the day before we had rain and Preston decided it was better to try the next morning. The waves were much more beginner friendly and lead to a better experience. He was also patient with my partner who isn’t a strong swimmer and first time on a surf board in the ocean. She caught a couple waves as well!
