What To Expect
Check-In to the Skytrek desk 30 minutes before your booked time. We'll then take you up to our launch area on Coronet Peak, a quick 20 minute drive in our courtesy transport and proceed to get the equipment ready while our ground crew gets you into a helmet and harness. Your pilot will then take you through a briefing to explain what you need to do and then it's time to launch into the sky and fly free like a bird. Landing takes place on the valley floor about 3.7 km away from the take-off point. We pack up the equipment and take you back to town.

5.00My first hang gliding experience, and I really, really enjoyed it. The hang gliding itself was an initial rush followed by a really nice view of the beautiful scenery. In terms of the operator, it was very well organized, efficient, and I had total confidence in the safety and expertise of my pilot. I found the hang gliding to be not just a novelty, but something I would consider doing on a trip to another scenic locale.
A must do in Queenstown. Unique and serene.

5.00Skytrek were extremely professional. Their diligence to our safety meant we were relaxed and soaked up the whole experience. Tandem hang gliding wasn't scary at all, it was serene. My sons (15 and 17) loved it and their guides made their flight more exhilarating.

5.00Hang gliding is not scary, it's so serene. Skytrek Tandem hang gliding were extremely professional right from the start, responding promptly to emails so that we could plan our trip around the weather and other activities. Our guides made us feel well taken care of. Their diligence to our safety meant we were relaxed and soaked up the whole experience. It was a lot of fun. My sons (aged 15 and 17) loved it and their instructors made their flight more exhilarating.

5.00Even though the day I was scheduled to hang glide was one in which it was going to rain, Ian helped me reschedule so that I could glide before leaving New Zealand. He was really accommodating over e-mail and a pleasure to speak to in person. Harry was an awesome and engaging driver who caught us up on what to expect by the time we'd be at the mountain peak. Personable and joyful all the way through. Pablo was a fantastic hang gliding partner. He brought happiness to the job, took plenty of pictures and video for me to remember this with forever, and did tricks with my permission. It was my favorite activity during my entire stay in Queenstown. Don't miss it.

5.00Even better than my first hang gliding experience 1/4 century ago in Rio de Janeiro Brazil-that one lasted about 10-15 mins. but this one was at least 20. Ironically, my pilot here was Pablo-who is from Rio & learned his trade at the very spot I went from there. So if you can try to fly w/Pablo-great dude.
Andy is a handsome and nice man. Of course, his flying ability ranks first.

5.00My partner and I went hang gliding during our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The whole process was really smooth from check-in to take-off. We were meant to feel at ease the whole time, and the pictures turned out great and were transferred to our phone on the spot!
