Mayumi was our tour guide and she was amazing, connecting the history of Japan with modern day and interlinking with her own personal experiences. She was also so funny! Learned a lot.

Did this tour of the Imperial Palace East Gardens and it was excellent. The history of Edo Castle and the shoguns was brought to life beautifully, but the real highlight was our guide. Having grown up between Japan and the US, she offered a unique dual perspective — going beyond the history to explain how Japanese society actually evolved into what it is today. Her journalist background really showed: sharp insights and great storytelling throughout. If you want to truly understand Japan, not just see it, book this tour. Highly recommended
