Wieliczka Salt Mine
Upon arrival, you and the tour leader will proceed to the Salt Mine, where you will meet a licensed guide and begin your tour. The 700-year-old mine and UNESCO World Heritage Site houses nearly 200 miles (300 km) of eerie tunnels, all carved by hand from salt blocks, and you’ll see the section that’s open to the public. With your guide, visit the three upper levels of the mine, at depths of 209 to 443 feet (64 to 135 meters). Begin with a descent down the stairs to the first level, where you’ll be led through chambers and shown underground lakes, shrines, and salt monuments. Admire the showstopper – the Chapel of St. Kinga – and marvel at how every one of its features, from chandeliers to the altar, is made of salt! Hear from your guide about the chapel’s history and how it took more than 30 years for two men to complete the wonder, which required more than 200,000 tons of rock salt.

Tour itself was great. This was provided by on site tour guide. Pick up at Indigo Hotel but cannot be dropped off there. No water on bus on very hot day. Would have purchased if available. No explanation as to need to pick up listening device or how to use so had to assist elderly tourists with it. No meeting place for after tour provided. Had to rely on phone and ask directly but was not planning to turn phone on for the day due to daily charges. Should have been pre arranged. Tour itself was fantastic.

Excellent Service. Ilona was very kind and nice and everything went smoothly. I recommend bringing something to eat without having to buy the lunch box.

The guide explained very carefully, the time of the gathering place is also very clear, the gathering time is a little early, but it is not possible. A place where people come once in a lifetime anyway!

I knew there were 380 steps to initially walk down but this then went up to around 800. If I knew this I would have not gone as my knees are bad at the moment. The tour was great and some beautiful things to see but unless you are very able bodied I would avoid.
