These tours visit the tribes of Ethiopia's rapidly changing Omo Valley. Of the many small groups in this area we regularly visit the Hamer, the Mursi, the Ari, the Karo and Nyangatom. Less frequently we also visit the Karo. Our itineraries are scheduled to include some of the local weekly markets in the region.

Addis Ababa
Day 01 Addis Ababa - Jinka Fly to Jinka on Ethiopian Airline then drive to Turmi and visit the Hamer tribe who are well known for the scarring of their bodies, using clay to shape their hairstyles, and the unique practice of "bull-jumping" which every young man must accomplish prior to marriage, ( If their is any, en route visit the Banna tribe. Overnight – Emerald Lodge

Day 02 Turmi - Jinka Drive to Murele and visit the Karo people, known for their elaborate body-painting. Also visit a village of Nyangatom People who leave south of the Karo Tribe by the banks of the Omo Valley, return for lunch to Turmi and continue thr drive to Jinka enroute visit the Banna tribe, and the Ari Tribe. Overnight Jinka – Nasa Hotel/Jinka Resort

5.003 day tour of the Omo valley was excellent and highly recommended. Very friendly team and it was well organised. Visiting the Omo valley is a great experience not to be missed!

5.00Despite arriving late in the day Dagi was there to meet and greet me at the airport. The trek is very fascinating with different scenery and friendly locals to say hello to along the way. Not as skilled as Dagi and concentrating more on the climbing it was a blessing in disguise as Dagi was able to give me an incredible amount of information along the way on not just the monestry but lailabella as well. He is very proud to live here and I see why . Once at the top the priest was there to greet me and dressed up in his traditional outfit which was magnificent to see. I would highly recommend Dagi to anyone thinking of doing this tour
