What To Expect
it is a lifetime encounter that you wouldn’t want to miss out on the moment you get an opportunity to visit Rwanda. Wake up early in the morning at 4:30 am and drive off to the park. It’s a 112 km long drive to get to the Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, Musanze province which is a habitat to the endangered Mountain gorillas. You can take visually attractive pictures from the different stopovers along the journey and also get to have a cup of coffee. At exactly 8.30 am, we move to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing Gorilla tracking. You are distributed into different groups and then sent off into the forest. The trek takes an hour to about 8 more depending on where the gorillas had been the previous day. 5.00Shalom Safaris curated a first class all inclusive mountain gorilla encounter. From Paul's excellent transport and knowledgeable explanations to the staff of the park service, everything was meticulously managed. Porters, trackers, and guides were superb. And of course the stars of the show shined bright. The gorilla family ranged from animated and uninhibited young to indifferent adults. Our day trip concluded with an excellent lunch and a return to Kigali. BTW Rwandan infrastructure is excellent.

5.00The experience was worth every penny and more. My guide Muhammad was exceptional. The ride to the gorillas, he answered my many questions about Rwanda with a friendly and enthusiastic nature. The gorillas experience was fantastic. The mountain guides were professional yet friendly and we got very close to the many gorillas, including being charged by the silver back at the end. But as we were told prior to the trekk, the charge was a bluff, but still very exciting. The experience was so good, I will be back and hope to have Muhammad again.

5.00I love the experience, and what a privilege to witness such of animals in there own turf. A overcast day is what photographers needs for pictures perfect and thats what we had. The staff (driver) Mico was outstanding, considering the task need, and very helpful with his knowledge, clean and comfortable vehicle, serving me with water and meal .
