Each day ends with wine tastings and light lunches at premier wine farms. Begin and end at Fossil Hills, where small groups (min. 4 participants) enjoy a personal journey reconnecting with nature, friends, and the unique fynbos and renosterveld landscapes.
Our single-track trails provide a moderate challenge, ideal for those seeking adventure paired with McGregor’s winelands. We run hikes year-round, with spring and autumn being the most popular for their blooming wildflowers—September especially. Secure your spot early!

5.00What fun! We went with a group of people and dogs so my suggestion is take your doggies with! Jenna was also a great guide, and the fossils were interesting.

5.00The walk, which was more like a hike, started at McGregor Winery, across fields, up around and down the fold mountains of Fossil Hills nature reserve, ending back at the winery for a light lunch followed by a wine tasting paired with homemade ice-cream. Delicious. Our guide Jenna was great. We had a very interesting, memorable and enjoyable hike, learning much about the mixed fynbos and renosterveld biomes, the plants, the area, the geology and the fossils that litter the hills.

5.00I really enjoyed this beautiful walk in nature, learning about the botanicals of the area, as well as the history of McGregor and Robertson. Jenna was an enthusiastic and fun guide, and the lunch and wine pairing afterwards were delicious!
