Mabamba Bay is a wetland on the edge of Lake Victoria, northwest of the Entebbe peninsula. It's one of Uganda’s 33 Important Bird Areas and since 2006 a Ramsar-listed wetland of international importance. Key protected bird species in Mabamba are the shoebill, the blue swallow and the papyrus gonolek. Mabamba Bay is a unique extensive marsh stretching along a narrow bay, fringed with papyrus towards the main body of Lake Victoria.

What To Expect
While on a Mabamba Birding Tour, you will sail on the calm waters of the swamp. A canoe voyage through papyrus swamp in the Mabamba Bay will take you to the unscathed attractiveness of the wetland, where you will have the highest chance of seeing Shoebill and other papyrus specialist birds like Saddle-billed Stork, Malachite Kingfisher, African Jacana, and other swamp specialities. Mabamba Swamp birding Tour will offer you with an opportunity to make acquainted with one of Uganda’s stunning swamps. The marshland is a newly discovered home for the most wanted bird the shoe bill that you look out for in the skies and down on the swamp. Others bird species at the bay include the White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, yellow-backed weaver, Northern Brown-throated Weaver, Blue-headed Coucal and other swamp specialties. 5.00East African Jungle knocked it out of the park! We went Gorilla trekking, bird watching for the Shoe bill, Chimp trekking and River Safari. and they all were amazing we saw gorrilas, chimps, shoe bills, lions and all on the first try! Ronnie our guide was amazing, a real down to earth guy, great guide, and an excellent driver. Ronnie made us feel safe and secure, and he was really personable. He really went out of his way to go above and beyond. When booking your tours ask for Ronnie. Ruth and Ronnie kept all lines of communication open and were always reachable. Ruth was very pleasant and helped us out with any issues we had. If your going to tour Uganda do it with East African Safari!
