Organisation in advance was perfect: clear, honest and reliable communication, no exaggerated promises. It has been said quite frankly that there is no guarantee to see wildlife – and it is precisely this honesty that impressed us. But what we experienced then simply flashed us! From the first minute we felt that everything was thoughtful and respectfully planned. Our guide was not only incredibly friendly, but also very experienced and full of knowledge about nature, animals and life in the Delta. His calmness, respect for the wilderness and sense of security made us feel good at all times. The encounters with elephants, birds and hippos were intense and genuine – not a staged “safari experience”, but pure, untouched nature. The feeling of gliding in a small mokoro through the water arms of the delta, accompanied only by the sounds of the wilderness, was indescribable. On the way back there was a portion of pure adrenaline: A herd of elephants blocked our path, while a hippo made it clear that we were traveling in its territory. Our guide stayed calm, acted thoughtfully – and got us through the situation safely. We had no expectations for this trip – and that’s exactly what made it our most intense experience here in Botswana. Thanks, Kalahari Breeze Safaris, for this unforgettable experience! 🌍🙏

The canoe ride was beautifully serene and the totally unspoilt delta was absolutely lovely. We saw loads of birds and quite a few animals (hippos, wildebeest, warthog, zebra, mongoose, antelope, etc.) too, a huge bonus. A wonderful experience. The picnic lunch provided was very good and welcome after all our exertions. However, it didn't start well when there was a miscommunication between office and driver/guide (Craig) about pickup location of the 2nd guest to be collected, resulting in me having to sit waiting in the vehicle for 45 mins (having got up early for the 7.15 am pickup) before he finally found out where to pick her up. We ran 35 mins late for the next two pickups and the guide did not even apologise to anyone. Then, along the way, he informed our group of 6 Europeans that we would be able to choose how long the bush walk would be, from 30 mins to 1 hr. 30, depending on how we felt. However, when we arrived on the island after the canoe journey, the local guide/poler (who called himself X-tra) took us on the walk and gave us no choice - he walked painfully slowly for a total of 1 hr . 45 in the blazing sun with no shade, in the heat of the middle of the day; it was 34 degrees and although I had a hat, suncream, lots of water, I got sunstroke and felt very unwell. It was the first time in my life experiencing this and I've visited around 60 countries, many of them very hot ones. Although I had to sit on the ground a couple of times when the guide stopped to tell or show us something, as I thought I might faint otherwise, and when he asked if I was ok as I seemed tired, I informed him I felt a bit faint with the heat, but he took little notice and made no accommodation. I was unwell for 24 hours, still feeling faint and nauseous on my 17-hour plane journey home the next day. (I learned afterwards that it's a dangerous, emergency condition that can even lead to brain haemorrhage in severe cases.) I think the length (and maybe the timing during the day) of the walk should be adjusted for the conditions, and welfare of the clients should be taken into account - particularly looking out for signs of sunstroke/heatstroke on hot days.

What an amazing day! From traveling to our departure location and returning back to our local accommodations, everything was so enjoyable. We were out in the open all day and the sun was shining and the temperatures were warm and the journey was peaceful and relaxing. There was plenty of time to take in everything that was going on around us and plenty of time for our rowing guides to answer all of our questions. We were provided a packed lunch which suited our needs perfectly. Don’t miss out on a chance to see the Delta via the Mokoro canoe tour! You’ll love it!

It was an interesting experience that I'm happy to have participated in once but doubt I would do again. My experience may have been different if I had a seat, however they ran out and I had to balance cross legged for the whole duration. It was great to see the wildlife from low viewpoint. The birds were absolutely spectacular. The bush walk was fascinating once the guides spoke to the whole group and not just 1 participant. Bravo in particular was very knowledgeable with tracking, animal behaviour and local plant uses. Lunch consisted of a cold Burger and salad from a local take away chain. Be prepared for a very fast and bumpy trip to and from the Mokoro station. Also make sure you take provisions in case you need to go to the toilet as it's bush only - which is fine - just lucky I had provisions on me as I was unaware.

Pick us was easy. Ride took about 1h. Afterwards we were introduced to our local guides. They took us with the mokoro through the Delta for most of the day. We saw zebras, wildebeests, an elephant and many birds. Once we got back we drove to a lodge in the Delta and lunch was provided for us. The local guides can tell you everything you want to know about the Okavango Delta

Too much time for what's on offer. It is a mokoro tour only. Very relaxing but very boring No animals are practically seen. The picnic sits on the ground under a tree for an hour, to eat a banana, an apple and a water. Lunch and food if you're all right, at a Lodge by the River
