Dhampus
The one-day Dhampus tour takes us back from the busy city of Pokhara to the rural area of the Annapurna region. From the beautiful village of Dhampus, we see the full beauty of the Annapurna range with the magnificent peaks of Annapurna South, Himchule and Machhapuchre Himal. On this one day tour, we have the chance to deep dive into the rural life of Nepal. A great alternative to a multi-day trekking tour. We start our tour after breakfast in Pokhara for 45 min. drive by taxi to Phedi. From Phedi, we walk 3 hours to Dhampus village and stay there for lunch. After lunch, we descend to Kande and from there take a taxi back to Pokhara. Length: 9,6 km I Duration: 5 h I Ascent: 945 m I Descent: 388 m I Highest Point: 2,062 m I Lowest Point: 1,160 m

Unfortunately, it was a very cloudy day so we only got a couple of glimpses of the Himalayas mountain range during our trek. However, this did not dampen our enjoyment of the day as there were still so many spectacular views. It was also interesting looking at the day to day life of the people living in the area, the farms and even a school. The lunch stop provided a delicious meal in what must be an amazing viewpoint when it is not cloudy. Roman was our guide and was such an interesting and genuinely decent human being. As we walked, it was fascinating and humbling listening to his experiences with the mountains and also the earthquake of 2015. A must do experience when you are in Pokhara.

Definitely a MUST tour if you have a day in Pokhara - the perfect way to explore and hike Annapurna Range without a hustle. You will start at Australian Camp entrance, which is better since less stairs required as compared to Phedi entrance. A lot of interesting information on the area, local life, history shared by my guide Roman, who is so passionate and knowledgeable about Nepal and all small details. Very grateful for this opportunity! Learnt a lot this day, thank you once again, Roman!

I had a good day with the guide Dipu. The hike is not too difficult, the steepest part is at the end but it is done downhill. We passed through some villages and saw the mountains from the Australian camp. The sky was a little cloudy but we caught a glimpse of some Himalayah mountains.
