St. Helena's Anglican Church
Our guest will here the role the church played in Beaufort's History from its founding in 1712, they will see the grave yard from the carriage and hear about some of Beaufort's founding fathers, & soldiers who gave there all who are buried there.

Our tour will meander on the backstreets of Old Beaufort's Historic District and pass by century old live oak trees draped in spanish moss, Antebellum & Victorian Houses and Churches, Beautiful Gardens all from the comfort of our beautiful Blue Carriages pulled by our Gentle Giants. Relax and enjoy the clippity clop of the horses feet while your guide shares Beaufort's 300+ years of history, folklore, legends & Hollywood movie tales. From the early Colonial settlements, American Revolution, Plantation life of the Antebellum South, Civil War, Reconstruction Period, the 20th century through today Beaufortonians have always been involved in every major period of American History.

5.00This tour exceeded our expectations!! The staff, from booking to check-in and beyond were exceptionally helpful and nice. Our driver and guide was Tyler Banks who was full of enthusiasm and knowledge of Beaufort. Tyler was humorous—joking about our horse Steve and other witty comments that made for a pleasant 55 minute ride through the historic district. There was also an opportunity at the end to interact with the horse. Strongly recommend — fun for all ages.

5.00“Beautiful Beaufort on the Bay”, was indeed, very beautiful. Our Guide couldn’t have been any more entertaining …her humor easily kept you engaged in the tremendous amounts of history she shared. Wyatt our horse was equally as fabulous …what a gem!! …literally our entire experience was spectacular.

2.00The carriage is comfortable. The pace was super slow and easy. This tour might want to consider renaming itself, as there was very little history shared by the guide. Perhaps “A Lazy Horse drawn Carriage Ride through beautiful Beaufort” would be more accurate. The guide’s script was corny and silly. A young child talked the entire time without any parental restraint, which made it difficult to hear the guide clearly. Certainly parents should not bring a young child who talks constantly on a tour like this. The guide emphasized how well this company takes care of its horses. For that I admire them. To repeat this type of discussion for an hour was irritating.

5.00On our first trip to Beaufort, SC - together with 2 other couples - we took the horse drawn carriage tour. It was very informative & interesting - with history & attractions. A great and fun way to see this pretty, coastal town.
