Bruce Belcher’s Daintree River Cruises
Bruce Belcher’s Daintree River Cruises offer a one-hour wild life cruise. We are enthusiastic, honest, exciting and informative. We are keen bird watchers and have a good eye for crocodiles and tree snakes, with crocodiles being spotted on 98% of trips, particularly in cooler months. We don't provide Daintree bird watching tours however the native bird life in the Daintree is abundant.

So amazing to be on the Daintree river. Bruce was very knowledgeable about everything local and crocodiles and we saw an adult female and a baby and he knew exactly where to take us

We did the 1 hour wildlife cruise yesterday afternoon organised through Daintree Discovery Tours. Unfortunately I cant remember the name of our guide but he was extremely informative and very funny making it a really enjoyable cruise.

We absolutely loved our 1 hour Daintree River crocodile cruise! Our guide Bruce was very knowledgeable, funny, and clearly passionate about the wildlife and ecosystem, making the whole experience both educational and entertaining. We spotted several crocodiles (including a few big ones!) and plenty of birdlife, all while learning fascinating facts about their behavior and habitat. The boat was comfortable and safe, with plenty of great photo opportunities along the way. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, an unforgettable glimpse into the wild beauty of the Daintree. Highly recommend this tour for families, couples, or anyone who wants to experience nature up close in a respectful and sustainable way!

It was fun, took the 2:00 cruise got a free drink and snack. Unfortunately it’s entering the warm season and therefore less chances of croc sightings due to warm water and breeding season. as that was told to us as we were on the boat. Best time to go is winter. We saw a baby and head of female. The driver was entertaining and tried his best. A coupon is given is you don’t get a good sighting, which is helpful especially if you have an extra day, but you can use any time at all!

Great tour with Bruce himself as our guide. We went during low tide and with a small group. We saw 5 crocs in total, incl. a 2-3-year-old and a baby. Highly recommended tour. We appreciated the fact that the crocs were treated with respect and 'left alone'.

Great trip with our guide Ray, who had plenty of stories about crocs (and life haha) and was exactly what you’d want from a Far North Queensland guide. Loved the extra info about birds but it was the crocs we came for and we weren’t disappointed. Saw one large male but just the tops of his eyes, then a female laying in the sun - we got a few metres away from her and it was great. Then Ray somehow spotted a baby in the mangroves. Absolutely recommend and if you can do the 2pm it’s a bit of extra fun to have a glass of wine on the trip :)

We cruised the Daintree River with Captain David and his trusty first mate, Dougie the Dog, aboard the Solar Whisper, spotting crocodiles and learning about the river ecosystem. Captain David’s sharp eye and deep knowledge of the river made the cruise unforgettable. He spotted crocodiles for us, pointed out birdlife and other wildlife along the banks, and explained the delicate balance of this unique ecosystem. The Solar Whisper’s quiet, eco-friendly design let us glide along peacefully, making it feel like we were truly part of the environment.
