This tour will take you to not only tourist attractions, but also to nice Japanese-style streets and back alleys. Please wear comfortable shoes.
Many places in Kyoto such as temples and taxis do not accept credit cards. Please be sure to have some Japanese yen ready before joining the tour.
＊On very hot summer days, it is recommended to change to Plan B course, which requires fewer steps and takes you to Chishakuin Temple( a hidden gem indoor temple) and Sanjusangendo Temple(famous for a forest of Buddhist statues).
The cab can accommodate four people. 3 guests + a guide, so if there are 4 guests, two taxis are required.
Attention: This tour is restricted to cruise ship guests who can independently reach Kyoto Station.

What To Expect
Kinkakuji Temple
You can see the shining golden pavilion which used to be the political center of the Shogun(the head of Samurai warrior).It is one of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites in Kyoto.
Bamboo Forest Street
You will go through the Bamboo forest. This beautiful bamboo forest appears many times in the advertisement poster of Kyoto.

5.00Great tour! We got to see a lot of what Kyoto has to offer. We saw some amazing shrines and beautiful locations like the bamboo forests. We were even able to see some locations that we were not aware of before and were not as crowded by tourists. A 5 star tour. On top of all that, we had an amazing guide. Yoshi is such a sweet, knowledgeable and funny guide. He honestly felt like your friend showing you around, suggesting good restaurants, movies and places to avoid. He really got to know us and tailored the tour to our interests to make sure we got the best experience possible. He really went above and beyond. A 6 star tour guide.

5.00My daughter (21) and I (62) loved the full day we spent with Naru. He was extremely polite, punctual, and well-read. We travelled seamlessly via bus, taxi, and subway to the 10 wonderful spots in Kyoto. Naru was extremely knowledgeable and explained many things as we toured. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable. We met Naru at 9 a.m. and completed the day shortly after 5 p.m. with a stop for a leisurely lunch along the way. We cannot recommend Naru or the tour enough!

5.00We had the best day in Kyoto and saw so much! We could never ever have done it without our lovely guide, Akemi. She took us all over the city which was much bigger than we ever anticipated! We used various modes of transport which suited us perfectly! It was a delight to discover the amazing sites in Kyoto and our family enjoyed it immensely. We were time poor so this was the perfect day to accomplish a lot. Thank you Akemi!

She was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, spoke great English and was able to adjust the schedule as needed (for example, she rearranged part of the trip to avoid large crowds). I would absolutely recommend her for anyone that is interested in exploring Kyoto with a local. This was one of the best tours I have ever taken.
