This is a private tour specifically designed for cruise ship passengers. Explore the stunning scenery of Christchurch's hills, harbours and beaches with one of our friendly and knowledgeable local guides.
This shore excursion takes you to the historic Sign of Takahe, where you can take beautiful photos. After enjoying a snack at the Sign of the Bellbird Scenic Reserve, you'll explore Governors Bay Jetty and the charming port town of Lyttelton. The tour continues with a stop at Evans Pass lookout for stunning views of Lyttelton Harbour and a glimpse into the port’s role in New Zealand’s trade and Antarctic exploration. The final stop is Sumner Beach, where you can unwind and explore the village before being dropped off back in the city center.
At the end of the tour, you can choose to be dropped off in Christchurch city centre or back at the port.Shuttle buses run continuously between the port and city centre for cruise passengers, making it easy to return to your ship.

What To Expect
The Sign of the Takahe is a historic rest house that survived the 2010-2011 earthquakes but required extensive restorations to preserve its integrity and charm. This building represents a vital piece of history and where you can enjoy scenic views. A 15-minute drive up Dyers Pass Road along Summit Road brings us to the next location.
We will stop at another historic stone rest house, the Sign of the Bellbird, for a snack. Here, you'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Canterbury Plains and Lyttelton Harbour. A 15-minute drive brings us to the next location.
