Maasai Mara National Reserve
Explore the Masai Mara, with its abundance of large mammals and diverse birdlife. Big cats are a very prominent feature of the Masai Mara and also include Cheetahs and Leopards, both of which are fairly straightforward to find here. We are definitely at ‘Predator Central’ here and there can be few, if any wildlife spectacles anywhere in the world that can rival the tension, drama and emotion of a Mara crossing. As many as a million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra attempt this epic journey each year. Watching as thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather at a crossing point you can almost feel the pressure build on the animals at the front as they consider the right time to attempt to cross the dangerous waters of the crocodile-infested Mara River. It is, however, a time of plenty for the gigantic Nile Crocodiles that live in the river and lie in wait as hundreds of thousands of animals head north from the Serengeti Plains to feed on the lush Mara grasslands.

Asili Adventures just gave me the trip of a lifetime. Every detail of the trip was carried out exactly as I had hoped. 5 different lodges, 4 different parks, 2 different drivers and timely transportation made for the perfect trip. I cannot recommend Asili enough. Monica and Joyce planned the adventure according to our preferences. Accommodations, food and transport were exceptional. Our drivers, Malteen and Donatis, were fabulous. They brought Africa alive with their knowledge of the parks, animals, politics, food, history and culture. The respect they showed for the land and wildlife was beautiful to see. Thank you Asili for doing the hard stuff, so I could enjoy the loveliness of Africa.

My family and I had an amazing trip with Asili Adventures in Kenya and Tanzania!!! I would highly recommend requesting Jimmy if you are traveling in Kenya and Martin if you are traveling in Tanzania. Both of our guides were fantastic and went above and beyond for us. They were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable and knew where and when to find the animals we wanted to see. We saw so many amazing animals and scenery along the way. We got to see the Big 5 (Lions, Rhinos, Leopards, Elephants, and Buffalo), as well countless numbers of Wildebeest, Zebras, and different species of Gazelles, plus a few cheetahs and many many more wildlife along the way. If you are lucky enough to travel there during the Great Migration (late July is when we went) it is truly a sight to see. Watching the Wildebeests cross the river during the Great Migration was a once in a lifetime experience!! Both of our guides even helped teach me a Swahili on the trip as an added bonus! We could not have asked for a better trip and guides. My father has mobility issues and has to use a wheelchair to get around some places. Both of our guides, as well as the staff at the lodges were extremely helpful in helping him get around from place to place. The lodges we stayed at had excellent service, food, comfort, and really friendly staff for us right in the heart of the Masai Mara, Serengeti, as well as the Ngorongoro Crater. I would recommend bringing cash along for a tip for the staff at the lodges as well as for your guide. The Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater won't disappoint if you want to see countless numbers of animals in their natural habitat. We also took a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara which will leave you breathless once you are in the air. The only issue I ran into was not having enough space on my phone to back up all of my pictures and videos along the way(I am not the best photographer so my pictures don't do it justice). I would also recommend visiting the Masai village in Kenya and learning about their different cultures and traditions, it was very fascinating. All in all a very wonderful trip! Thank You again to Asili Adventures as well as our guides Jimmy and Martin for an amazing trip!!

Asili organized a 3 week safari for us in September 2024. From the pick-up at Nairobi airport to the last transfer back to the airport, everything was organized perfectly. Monica did an awesome job tailoring the safari to our wishes. After a couple of nights in Nairobi visiting a.o. the Giraffe Center and the Sheldrick Elephant Nursery in Nairobi, we spent the next 8 days at Ol Pejeta, Samburu, The Ark in Aberdare NP, Nakuru NP and Maasai Mara. Our driver for that leg, Charles, was outstanding. From Maasai Mara we flew to the Serengeti to Seronera. Flights were organized well. Our guide in Tanzania for the next 6 days, Rama, who was also amazing, picked us up at the Seronera airport. We spent 6 nights in Tanzania, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire. After that, Rama dropped us off in Namanga at the border between Tanzania to Kenya where we were picked up again by another Kenyan Asili guide, Martin. We spent 2 nights then at Amboseli and 2 nights at Tsavo West at the Kilaguni lodge. The last night we spent at the Fairmont Norfolk hotel in Nairobi to close out our safari in style. Asante sana to Monica and the Asili team. We loved it!

A friend spent the time to talk through a safari trip with me and she recommended Asili Adventures for us. From the first phone call to Monica, one of the Asili reps to now I have nothing but wonderful things to say about their help and guidance and planning. I would not hesitate to do another safari - I hope to do another safari - and will call them first. They provided amazing guides for our trip which took us hundreds of miles and locations - especially Jimmy and Godbless. We loved our accommodations, and they were varied which allowed to see all kinds of locations and places to stay. We had "squealing" moments each and every day - imagine a bunch of mid 60 year old females.....) We saw so much- enjoyed so much that this wonderful country offered - it was perfect - Asili made that happen. Thank you for the best "bucket list" adventure I could imagine.

My wife and I had high hopes, but our 15-day safari in Kenya/Tanzania definitely exceeded all our our expectations. From the moment we landed in Nairobi, we were extremely well taken care of. Our guides/drivers, Hashim Mkya in Tanzania and Eric Bande in Kenya, were both outstanding, and we considered them friends by the end of the safari. Besides the spectacular game drives, equally enjoyable were days we spent at Maasai/Chagga villages, and hiking to Materuni Falls. All accommodations except for one (Keys Hotel in Moshi) were absolutely delightful, with cozy accommodations and terrific food. I would highly recommend them to anyone desiring a safari in that part of Africa.

Asili team was very professional and responsive to our questions and requests! They arranged 11 day safari plus 1 day gorilla trekking in Rwanda. the entire trip was a private tour. We could not ask for a better trip arrangement! We did not have enough budget for what we requested so Asili team make adjustments to our itinerary to bring the cost down. It was still wonderful accommodation. Asili can offer 4-5 star hotels to camps so do not hesitate to reach out and ask for adjustment. We landed in Nairobi at 3 am so we were planning on sleeping at the airport but Asili arranged a hotel so that we can sleep for a few hours. Trip coordinator came to the hotel before we left for the safari and gave us the initial briefing. Monica was very sweet. Drivers/tour guides were knowledgeable and flexible. We shared what we want to do and see and they allocated enough for those animals and activities so we can enjoy every moment without any regrets. Private safari is definitely the best way to go! It was the best trip in our lifetime!

I loved every detail of the itinerary Asili adventures helped put together. It was a 13 day trip from Zanzibar to departure from Nairobi, our hotels ranged from downtown city to island cabins, to views of the nrongoro crater and gorgeous camps in masai Mara! We felt safe and helped when monica was available to respond immediately when our connecting flight got delayed, and our tour guide Hussein kept us on a tight schedule ensuring we were safe during our game drives but also always getting a front row seat to the most exciting natural views of animals in their ecosystem. I am so pleased I found out about Asili adventures, the team met all my needs, from a budget, accommodations, beach and adventure, cuisine and excursions. I highly recommend working with Monica and Hussein as a camp and adventure tour guide. My husband and I had the most incredible honeymoon in Tanzania. The feeling of friendship and hospitality we felt by the team was outstanding. The best and unexpected surprise was Monica greeting us personally In Nairobi with gifts for us before we went home. We love our personalized shuka blankets, we use them everyday at home as we reminisce our trip! Thank you! We would love to come back and work with you guys again soon!

We were 6 friends travelling from South Africa, on a private 14 night Safari trip with Asili Adventures. The company was amazing and very flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Asili allowed us to delay our trip by a year, due to pandemic restrictions and to adjust the itinerary to allow for an additional fishing trip. Once we arrived in Kenya, Asili also helped us add an extra 3 days into our itinerary in country at short notice. Re-arranging all our accommodation and transfers within a day. They were also fabulous at arranging all our COVID-19 PCR testing, making sure it was hassle free and didn’t impinge on our holiday. The guides (Martin in Kenya & Bonniephace in Tanzania) were very knowledgeable and professional. They really took care of us an drove us safely around both countries on some terrible roads, facilitating access to all the parks and arranging lunches and bush breakfasts along the way. They gave us some amazing animal sightings and bird watching. I cannot praise them enough! The vehicles used for the tour ( 4x4 Toyota Land cruisers) are comfortable (with charging facilities and drinks fridge on board) and we’ll maintained. They have a roof that opens up to allow for better game viewing, which was fantastic. The company was very professional and kept us well informed about our trip. I would highly recommend them for travel in both Kenya and Tanzania.

If you are planning a safari in Kenya or Tanzania Asili Adventures are the tour company you want to go with. What started as a 13 day adventure turned into a 19 day adventure of fun, wonder and amazing sightings. The team working tirelessly in the office are so professional and efficient they are a pleasure to work with and the drivers are incredible, not only are they able to navigate through some of the worst traffic we have ever seen but they will get you to the best sightings for the perfect photo every time.
