  We spent two weeks on holiday (from November 11th to 24th, 2025) with Merganser Holidays and have nothing but praise for them. From the very beginning (when we requested a quote for the trip), the service was impeccable. We were able to modify some tour activities and change hotels without any problems. Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted with open arms and a flower lei, and from then on, everything went smoothly. The selection of hotels they made for us was superb (4 and 5 stars); at each hotel we stayed in, the friendliness of the staff was outstanding, and the facilities were all incredibly impressive. We recommend this trip for a minimum of 15 days. If possible, staying a few extra days for some relaxation would be a great way to complete your Sri Lanka experience. Our driver, Henry, is a very helpful and attentive person (a true gentleman). He was always concerned about our well-being, explained a lot of Sri Lankan history to us, and gave us several helpful tips. He was always available to assist us with our needs.   I looked into Sri Lanka with a number of UK travel companies and then decided to reach out to local companies . i contacted Henry ( founder ) and he was great putting together a trip for 11 nights . he gave us lots of options for activities and price points ( hotel ratings ) . Henry was our driver / guide for duration and was exceptional . it was private tour so we could make changes as we wished - was good to have flexibility Quality of hotels was very good and particularly liked 98 acres The trips / day tours were well co ordinated and always felt we paid a fair price would absolutely return and recommend to friends Henry was great and looked after my daughter and i very well Made lots of lovely memories - thank you so much

  Your company from the start of making an enquiry were very helpful and professional. We had a wonderful time with Lal our driver and he was perfect. So helpful and knowledgable and within a day, he understood what we wanted from the trip and helped us to achieve this. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country full of variety. I have recommended your company to many of my friends, so they can experience an amazing holiday with no hassles, knowing Lal has everything in hand! Nothing was too much trouble for him. We also met Mr Henry and his son who own the company, who were charming too. If I am lucky enough to return to your country I would use your company again. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

• A wonderful tour of southern Sri Lanka

  From the moment we arrived at Colombo Airport the trip was amazing. We crammed so much into two weeks from Adams Peak (and later In the trip to Little Adam’s Peak), a Sri Lankan cookery class, elephant sanctuary, some astonishing temples, a safari, mountain railway trip, tuktuk rides, tea plantations, a cultural show, and so much more. Our driver, Henry, took great care of us and adjusting the itinerary if we wanted to change parts of the tour. He helped us to experience the real Sri Lanka from roadside cafes for lunch, local markets and some fantastic scenery. We even detoured to find some massive trees with thousands of large fruit bats hanging around - surreal. Sri Lankans are a peaceful, friendly, happy, and helpful bunch. There is no pressure selling, prices are great and they are always hospitable. I can thoroughly recommend Merganser Holidays for this tour, and Henry went above and beyond for us, making our vacation truly memorable.   My husband and I have just returned from a 14 day tour. It’s been a fantastic experience and I’d happily recommend Merganser Holidays to anyone thinking of visiting Sri Lanka. Henry our tour guide has fantastic knowledge of all the sites. He always arrives promptly and the car is kept clean and tidy. He was very amenable when we added a couple of stops along the way. A very very enjoyable experience. Super organisation, very efficient and extremely friendly. • a good time in Ngeombo

  I went to Negombo in Sri Lanka on the 14th of June until the 29th of June we stayed at the Beach Apartments in Negombo it was a very nice place to stay we had a lovely Apartment with all with everything in it that we needed and the staff and manager were very polite and helpful if i were to go back I would stay there again as it was also a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants near by and the everyone was very friendly there was a great restaurant right by us called Edwin's good food and drink and cheap we went there several times and it was my husbands 70th Birthday and they made a fuss of us and even presented us with a cake which was a very gesture .

  Just back home after a fabulous time in Sri Lanka. Right from first contact we knew we were in good hands with Merganser, Henry Lionel was super efficient helping us plan our itinerary. We were met at the airport by our friendly and professional driver, Lal, a true gentleman who made sure we got the most out of the next 16 days together, he looked after us every step. Lal and Merganser were also flexible enough to add in a trek up Adam's Peak for two of our party at short notice and every day we felt able to make small requests depending on our energy, hunger, mood etc. This is very different to prior reports we heard of other drivers in Sri Lanka who force tourists into commission-based shopping experiences etc. and allow little flexibility. The van was cool, comfortable and the onboard wifi was a real bonus. Merganser sourced our train tickets for us in advance, felt so lucky to skip the long queues at the stations. We were very fortunate indeed to travel with Merganser and Lal, super memories for a lifetime, a well deserved 5 stars :-)

  Niro our guide was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, he was so caring & such a font of knowledge about everything to do with Sri Lanka. He answered all our questions thoroughly & made our holiday way better & more memorable than we thought it could be due to his enthusiasm & passion. The hotels provided were amazing & everything was covered in the tour. Not a single complaint or concern
