Arrive to town at noon, just in time to taste a delicious traditional lunch and then go to “Isla del Sol”.

Walk on the Inca Stairway and drink water directly from the Fountain of Eternal Youth, then night stay at a local hostel on top of sun island where both parts of the lake will be seen. Dinner and rest at night.

Copacabana - La Paz

After breakfast , take a walk to visit Pilcocaina Temple, take magnificent photographs of the lake from a different perspective, then head back to Copacabana by boat. There, visit Copacabana's temple before having lunch.

Get picked up at 9 am at your hotel. Learn about the history of Bolivia’s wars, wealth and nature at this important plaza with your guide before starting off your day with a traditional tasty mid-morning snack.

While on your way to visit several local marketplaces that are bursting with Bolivian culture, your guide will lead the way to the San Pedro Prison giving you insights about why we have included this interesting landmark in the trip. Learn about thousands of different types of Andean potatoes by walking along the street where potatoes are sold in endless assortments including fresh and dehydrated varieties made specifically for traditional local cuisine. Ten we head back downtown via cable car. Free afternoon and night stay in La Paz.

La Paz - Rurrenabaque

Rurrenabaque

Departing from Rurrenabaque at 9:00 am in a comfortable car with A/C to Santa Rosa. Leaving at this time you will have great opportunities to see sloths, anteaters, birds, and other animals along the road. Around midday, take a 15-minute boat ride to our eco-lodge “The Turtles”. Once there, have a cold seasonal fruit juice. After this you will be shown the cabins where you will spend 2 nights. Next, enjoy a delicious lunch. At around 2:00 pm go for a boat trip and look for pink river dolphins, see birds, turtles, alligators and some extra wildlife.  After dinner, take a short night walk looking for insects, amphibians, and other night wildlife.

Day 5

Pampas Rurrenabaque

River Yacuma

Wake up early in the morning listening to nature sounds that receive the first sun light.  After having a delicious breakfast take the boat along the River Yacuma  again looking for squirrels, howlers, cappuccino monkeys, many amazon birds, etc. Return to the eco-lodge for lunch. Then, after resting, either in your room or in the hammocks, go to a different location to see capybaras, fish piranhas. At night, have dinner and go for a small walk around the lodge looking for nocturnal animals and caiman spotting.

Rurrenabaque - La Paz

Get up early (5:30 am) to watch the sunrise and listen to the sounds of daybreak: monkey cries and birdsongs. After breakfast, take a short walk in the pampas to look for the impressive anaconda (depending on the season). Return to the lodge for lunch and after it, go back to Rurrenabaque at about 4:30 pm.

Sucre is known for having dinosaur tracks all over the place, it is so trendy to name everything after a dinosaur that this park is all about dinos. After our visit to the Park, we will take local transport to go to viewpoint from where you can see the majestic Sucre.

Cerro Rico

The mines visited are located at the base of the historical Rich Hill of Potosi. Inside, appreciate the system of miners´ work that has not suffered great changes after so much time of exploitation.  Touring the different galleries and interior levels of the mines, visitors can meet some places where the miners-built statues that represent to their gods as The Uncle of the Mine (the devil). Visitors also can see the mineral veins that are a group of rocks and chemical formations of minerals, chimneys, apart from having an experiential sharing time with the miners and observing the different work methods that they carry out every day.  Be ready at 9 a.m. at the lobby. Afternoon bus to Uyuni and first night in Uyuni.

Uyuni Salt Flats

Your tour will begin at 10:30 am, from our office. The first stop will be Uyuni's 'train graveyard', to see the first locomotives in Bolivia. You’ll then visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners’ workshops next to the salt flats). Here, you’ll see handicrafts made of salt, and textile art made of llama and alpaca fiber.

Isla Incahuasi

After lunch you’ll carry on to “Isla Incahuasi” (Fish Island), where you will have time to take a hike to the top of the island to see giant cacti and rock formations made of petrified coral. Make sure you and your group pose for some fun perspective- and proportion-distorted photos, taken against the backdrop of the striking white surface of the salt flats. Important: During the rainy season  (from November to April), it is not possible to access Incahuasi Island. However, there is the possibility of visiting the island if on the day of your tour it does not rain. We also may sleep in a different location due to road access.

Finish off at the village of Villa Candelaria, and enjoy the unique experience of spending the night in a hotel made almost entirely of salt, called "La Escondida".

Uyuni Salt Flats

Villa Candelaria

Start the morning off at 7:00 am with breakfast, before going to visit the Chiguana Desert. Next, we’ll continue along a rocky road - Pasito Tuntun - to the beautiful Andean lagoons, inhabited by 3 species of Andean flamingos. Marvel at three lagoons on the way: ‘Cañapa’ where you’ll spot the first pink flamingos, ‘Hedionda’ where lunch will be served, and ‘Chiarcota’ where you’ll see a wider variety of birds and altiplanic fauna.

Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna

Then enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, and visit the Desert of Siloli, at 4550m (the highest and driest desert in the world). Make sure you take a photo next to the 'Rock tree', a lava rock formation. Before arriving to your final destination of the day, we will stop at the view point by the Red Lagoon, where you can spot more pink flamingos in their natural habitat, and admire this intense, red-coloured lake. Stay the night at a shared family lodging. Important: During the winter season (from May to August), it is not possible to access Eduardo Avaroa National Park (red lagoon, Dali dessert, green lagoon). However, there is the possibility of visiting black lagoon and rock valley, changes to the itinerary maybe made without prior notice depending on the weather conditions. You may also sleep in different locations depending on vehicle access.

The first place to visit is the Dali Desert, where Salvador Dali found inspiration for his work from the scattered boulders in the middle of the desert.

You’ll then see the Green Lagoon - toxic copper water at the foot of the big Licancabur volcano, which sits at 6000m, a few kilometers from the Bolivia-Chile border.

Uyuni

 Finally, you’ll head back to Uyuni, passing beautiful scenery along the way, and eating a picnic lunch next to the roadside. You’ll go by the Valley of the Rocks, the Alota settlement, and the San Cristobal Village. We’ll get back to Uyuni by 6:30 pm.  Night Bus back to La Paz.
