What To Expect
Day 1: 8:30 am: Pick up at your hotel/accommodation in Quito. 10:00 am: Arrival at the Cotopaxi National Park. Enjoy impressive panoramic views of the Cotopaxi volcano and take pictures. 10:30 am Visit the La Mariscal Interpretation Center. In this fascinating place, you can delve into the history, geology and natural beauty of one of the most emblematic volcanoes in the country. 12:00 am Ascent to the Rivas refuge, walk as we ascend the steep slopes, you will breathe the pure mountain air and witness dreamlike landscapes that unfold around you. 4:00 pm: Take a walk to the Limpiopungo Lagoon and admire the natural beauty that surrounds the area. 16:30 pm: Lunch at a local restaurant with typical Ecuadorian dishes. Lodging Day 2: 7:00 am: Breakfast at the accommodation. 8:30 p.m: Continue to the Quilotoa volcano. -Visit Indigenous family -Visit the Art Gallery -Visit Toachi Canyon 12:00 pm: Arrive at the Quilotoa viewpoint and marvel at the impressive views of the crater and the turquoise lagoon. 1:00 pm: Descend towards the lagoon and if you wish, take a walk around the crater. 15:00 pm: Stop at a restaurant for lunch. 4:00 p.m.: Return to Quito.

5.00We spent three unforgettable days with Pedro exploring Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, and hiking Pichincha—and he was hands down the best guide we had in Ecuador. Pedro is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the region’s geography, geology, and volcanoes. He also brings in local history with ease, making the journey both scenic and informative. He speaks perfect English, is logical, well-educated, and very easy to be around. He was punctual, flexible, and totally tuned in to what we wanted—whether it was more photos, scenic stops, longer hikes, or just soaking it all in. When we mentioned we wanted to try cuy, he brought us to a fantastic local spot we never would’ve found on our own. The pacing was great—adjusted for altitude, plenty of breaks, and he encouraged slower hikers without rushing. His car was clean and comfortable, and he always made sure we felt safe and well taken care of. Out of the five guides we had in Ecuador, Pedro stood out as the most balanced—informative but not overwhelming, professional yet relaxed, and truly invested in making sure we had a memorable experience. 5.00Pedro is amazing as a guide! We did a 4 day tour starting in Quito (pulujahua, middle of work, teleférico), then next day to Cotopaxi (hiking to Refugio and biking down), then next day Quilatoa, then final day Otavalo). Pedro knows so much about Ecuador - economics, politics, industries, history. He spoke perfect English but also spoke in Spanish to my kids who were practicing their Spanish. He took us to amazing restaurants and was a great hiker (we did tons of hiking). Loved every minute of our trip!!
