What To Expect

Day 1

Moai Monuments Small Group

1

Ahu Nau Nau

The clear morning light is great in the morning for capturing images of the Beautiful Royal beach at Anakena

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
2

Ahu Te Pito Kura

At ten metres tall, here lies one of the tallest moai ever to be erected, now but a vestige of its former glory. Nearby sits the famous magnetic circular stone which legend says came to Easter Island from the ancient homeland of Hiva with the first king, Hotu Matuʻa.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
3

One Makihi

One Makihi is an unrestored conglomerate of ahu platforms sitting as they have been for over two hundred years since the islanders turned on the traditions of their ancestors and began toppling the hundreds of moai found throughout the island.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
4

Ahu Tongariki

Restored between 1992 and 1996, this is the most awe inspiring of the various platforms. Here, fifteen of the largest moai set their stone faces like flint, looking eternally toward the setting of the sun, as well and the comparatively insignificant tourists who come to pay them homage.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
5

Rano Raraku

This is the birthplace of the moai, a virtual quarry of statues. Here, hundreds of handsome heads and torsos sit in various stages of carving, still waiting to be transported to their various ahu located all over the island.

2 hours • Admission Not Applicable
Day 2

Historic Pathways Small Group

1

Puna Pau

As if it wasn’t enough to make huge monolithic statues, in the latter years, large scoria topknots were made and fitted on the heads of the moai. Puna Pau is the small crater where these adornments were made.

40 minutes • Admission Not Applicable
2

Ahu Vinapu

The site of some of the island's most beautiful stonework, reminiscent of the legendary masonary found in the great Inca civilization of South America.

45 minutes • Admission Not Applicable
3

A large volcanic crater which plunges 200 meters below to a beautiful lake. With a great panoramic view of the island, it is probably the Easter Island's most magnificent natural wonder.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
4

Orongo

The ceremonial village, where during the 18th and 19th centuries, one of the most interesting political ceremonies happened once a year as different tribes competed to become the leader of the island. In a breathtaking sports event that involved climbing down cliffs, swimming out to the islets off the coast, the islanders came to this beautiful part of the island to see who would be their next ruler.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
5

Ahu Akivi

A restored site of seven moai, Ahu Akivi is said to represent the first seven explorers who came to Easter Island. These moai are the only group of statues looking out to the sea.

45 minutes • Admission Not Applicable
6

Ana Te Pahu

Like many volcanic islands, Easter Island is riddled with lava tubes. Ana Te Pahu is one of the more extensive networks found on the island and shows how the ancient Rapanui people used these cave networks to live, collect water, plant vegetables and hide from aggressive visitors from outside in the 18th and 19th centuries.

  • A Remarkable Experience from Start to Finish

We had an exceptional tour and time with our guide, Yoyo. We are still in awe of the many beautiful impressions of this extraordinary island. Yoyo was an excellent guide who brought us closer to his culture and the history of his ancestors. We could not have asked for a better guide for these tours. I would also like to thank Paulina once again for organizing everything and providing us with regular updates and information about the upcoming tour. I highly recommend these tours!

  • Our guide was wonderful....

Our guide was wonderful. Explained the history and significance of each site. He was interactive; fun; and a very accommodating tour guide

  • Overpriced - cheaper in town. Avoid and book upon arrival

Yoyo was great and the tour was very interesting, but the first day was 4 hours excluding the hour and a half lunch break. Day 2 was longer though Ultimately I've removed 2 stars as I paid over £220 for this trip (just for myself, as I went solo) which is massively overpriced for what I got (had to pay for the park entry ticket myself) and I spoke to a few other people who booked their 2 day trip upon arrival in town and paid CLP 150,000 - £122. This is what I would have been comfortable paying TLDR: overpriced - book a tour when you get here, especially if coming in low season. Not worth £220

  • This is the only tour you will need to cover all the sites on the Island. Book this tour!

This 2 day tour was a great experience. Yoyo was our tour guide on both days and he made this tour incredibly fun. His knowledge and pride about the island and the Rapa Nui people was noteworthy and I highly recommend Yoyo and this tour. You will just need this one tour to cover all the sites while in Easter Island. The pick up and drop-off was smooth.

Yoyo was a great tour guide! Rapa Nui is a fascinating place and it was really helpful and interesting to get the island's history and insight from a local. The sites were absolutely beautiful.

  • Very Good Tours

My wife and I did two private tours with Green Island. We did the Moai Monuments tour with a group of 7 as we toured with some friends whose visit to the island overlapped with ours. We then did the Historic Pathways Tour with just the two of us. The tour on our own was excellent. Our tour guide/driver did a great job and we learned a lot. The tour with our friends was pretty good but we didn’t learn as much. Unless you were standing next to the guide you couldn’t hear a lot of what he said. Also, my wife and I were in a 2nd vehicle which just had a driver. He was very friendly but we didn’t learn much. I think it would have been better if we had been in the tour guide’s vehicle. The two tours were a great use of time as they seemed to cover all of the significant spots on the island. Some of our friends went on the sunrise tour and spoke highly of it. Also, email correspondence and the payment process went extremely smoothly as Paulina is very responsive. Recommended.

  • Perfect Introduction to Rapa Nui

This was a fantastic way to start our stay on Rapa Nui. It helped us familiarize ourselves with the island, learn about its rich history and culture, and meet some wonderful people. The two-day duration was perfect and it allowed us to explore without feeling rushed. Our guides, Yoyo and Hekii, were amazing; they made sure everyone had a great time and took the time to answer every single question we had.

Paulina put together a customised tour and it was amazing, I could not have asked for more. Our guide Hekii was exceptional, he was full of information, extremely patient, and nothing was a problem. I would have no problem recommending Green Island Tours to anyone who would like a great experience at Rapa Nui. Dave Thomsen.

  • The Adventure of a Lifetime – Thank You Green Island Tours!

We visited Rapa Nui for our honeymoon in July 2025 and chose the two full-day and two half-day tour option with Green Island Tours and honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Our guide, Yoyo, was simply incredible. From the very beginning, he made us feel like we were exploring the island with an old friend rather than a traditional guide. His passion for Rapa Nui, along with his deep knowledge of its history and culture, brought every site and story to life in the most engaging way. Thank you Green Island tours for making our honeymoon was the adventure of a lifetime. Every day was so special and we genuinely loved every moment. We can’t recommend them highly enough. If you’re visiting Easter Island, don’t think twice. Book with Green Island Tours. You won’t regret it! (And ask for Yoyo as your tour guide)
