Tianjin Port – Temple of Heaven - Forbidden City ( L )

Temple of Heaven

Pick up at the exit of the Tianjin port by your private driver with car/van. Then drive for about two to three hours to the Beijing. After lunch, first you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, which was the place for past emperors to worship the God of Heaven. It's interesting to see many Chinese elders dance, sing songs, or play Tai Ji in the square.

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

Afterwards, visit the Forbidden City, the biggest and best preserved imperial palace in the world also known as the "Forbidden City", the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 1700's and onwards. After your first day tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Beijing, and your guide will assist you to check in to the hotel.

Summer Palace - Mutianyu Great Wall -Tianjin Port ( L )

Your tour guide will come to pick you up from your Beijing hotel. Then drive to visit imperial garden Summer Palace, There are 3,000 rooms in The Summer Palace, and you will see pavilions, bridges, corridors, and temples there.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Then, you will visit one of the seven great wonders, the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Wall is located in Huairou District, and its area is less crowed than other sections. It's famous for beautiful surroundings. As one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall, it used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. You will spend 2 hours to hike around it. After the tour, you will be transferred to Beijing International airport (PEK),or back to Tianjin Port after an entire day tour. Please ensure you choose the right tour option upon booking.

Lisa met us at the cruise port for our two-day tour of Beijing. Lisa is very friendly and naturally shared her culture with our group as we drove the hour and a half to the Great Wall. We stopped for lunch in a local restaurant where she ordered a variety of traditional Chinese dishes to share. Our luggage was safely stowed in the van with the driver while we visited the Great Wall and after our visit we were dropped off directly at our hotel. The next morning we were picked up promptly and again our luggage was safe in the van with the driver while we visited Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It was a great asset to have a guide who had actually worked at the Forbidden City for a year after school. In addition to the invaluable background information she knew how to navigate through the crowds so that it almost felt like we were the only ones there. A quick stop for shopping at the Pearl Market before getting us back to the ship on time. A very reliable and efficient way to see Beijing in just 2 days. Highly recommended!

We took this private x2 day tour with the lovely Linda who was so very kind as travelling with elderly parents she was flexible anticipating any requirements we had ensuring we had a great time and saw such exceptional sites. Linda exceeded all our expectations as she was so knowledgable, & her English language skills exceptional. Our driver was safe and had a good size comfortable vehicle - What an amazing experience thank you both.

We were met in by Bruce at Beijing airport and spent the next 60 hours seeing all the highlights of Beijing. He was very attentive, well informed, entertaining, flexible, and looked after us very well. Highly recommended.
