This is an excellent full 2-day tour of many of the main sites in the northern half of Oman, including Nizwa, Wahiba, Wadi Bani Khalid, Sur, Wadi Shab, and the Sharqiya Sands (including an overnight stay in a beautiful eco-lodge). This included an excellent guide/driver, Suleiman, who was attentive, informative and engaging - his presence ensured that the trip ran smoothly. I highly recommend this tour.

My family (6 members, 4 young children) chose to visit Oman during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. Vacation Packages Oman had a bit of difficulty securing a guide for us since it was a holiday and most people were home celebrating with family, but they succeeded in placing us with someone for two days during our trip, and we're happy they did. Our guide Rashid was fantastic. He was patient and understanding of our travel needs with the young children, and was always happy to chat about any aspect of Omani life and culture. We all traveled in one very capable Land Cruiser into the "Interior" of Oman to see the town of Nizwa with its old fortress and some of its date farms. Then we traveled down to the Wahiba sands. We had to cancel our plans to camp in the desert overnight due to a violent unexpected storm, but the storm did make for a drive that was quite an adventure in itself. The second day, we worked our way back toward Muscat, seeing some of the wadis (Wadi Bani Khalid, Wadi Tiwi, and Wadi Shab) as well as the Bammah Sinkhole on the way. The whole family really enjoyed our time on the tour, as well as our other non-guided days we spent in Oman. It is a lovely country, with stunning coastlines and friendly and generous people. Highly recommended!

My friend and I booked the 2 day tour of Nizwa, Wahiba Sands and Wadi Shab as part of our time in Oman. We had an unbelievable experience. Our guide met us at the hotel on time, was personable and willing to answer all of our questions. When we asked to stop to see an abandon village he said no problem at all. Our accommodations in Wahiba Sands far exceeded our expectations. We had our own private room that was a free standing room/bathroom with air conditioning - not attached to any other rooms. They had a communal sitting area with tea and snacks available. Our buffet dinner included live music. The sand dunes were beautiful. The hotel offered activities such as camel rides at an additional cost. We were able to get to Wadi Badi Khalid before any of the crowds and enjoy swimming in the Wadi by ourselves. We were able to hike through Wadi Shab and see the sink hole before making our way back to Muscat. We had a great experience and only wished we had more time to have added Jebel Shams to our tour! As a critique- we were not informed of where our hotel in Wahiba Sands was before departure. It would have been nice to know a head of time. Also the hike for Wadi Shab is more treacherous than advertised. I would make sure people are prepared with good walking shoes if they plan to participate.
