Matmata
You'll travel to the "lunar" landscape of Matmata. The main attraction here is visiting the Troglodyte (Underground) Houses, traditional Berber homes dug into the earth to escape the heat. You'll typically get to step inside one of these unique dwellings.
Douz
The day concludes by reaching Douz. This town is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Sahara." Tozeur Oasis and Medina: You may have a chance to visit the old medina, famous for its unique brick architecture, and take a tour of the lush palm groves, sometimes via an optional horse-drawn carriage ride.
Decor Star Wars Tunisie
This is a major highlight. You will typically switch to a 4x4 vehicle for an exciting drive into the desert. Ong Jmal (Camel's Neck): A photo stop at the distinctive rock formation, which is Arabic for "Camel's Neck." This was my first trip to Tunisia, how impressive with all the history, rich culture, friendly people, amazing food and the best part of this trip was our local private driver Wajdi. We booked different tours with him, 4 days of touring. What a blast. He was very professional, punctual, kind, caring, attentive and made us feel very special. On each tour we got to see more than just what was on the itinerary. We got to see almost 20 amazing sites and landmarks. Each one was memorable, because they had their own personality and heritage. It was a good decision to hire a local private driver, because the experience was more authentic, we felt very comfortable with Wajdi. Definitely coming back to this country for another experience, and will make sure to book the same driver again because I trust him, he always looks immaculate and smells nice 😊 I have hundreds of amazing photographs and difficult to choose for sharing but here are a few of them 😊

Our tour was a complete success, which was mainly due to the great organization by our guide Sahbi. He was incredibly friendly and accompanied us safely around the country. The overnight stay at the camp in Douz on the desert border was particularly impressive. For our boys the highlight was the route between the mountain oasis Chebika and Ong Jmal: We were there in the 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser to explore the Star Wars film set in the desert. A real adventure and a great new experience for all of us!
