  As an dependent traveler, I am always skeptical of hiring guide unless I am going to get something out of it I can’t do myself I am looking for a personal touch from a guide to show something beyond the internet articles and guide books abebe provides just that. Abebe is a solid standup guy with great knowledge not only lalibela but the entire country of Ethiopia. He can be as professional or as laid back as you’d like. We meet him in the restaurant and he come up to as we were talking about what to do and see. He offered to help and give us some option and finally offered he’s service. His prices are tough to beat and he’s very flexible with the structure of the program he will do whatever tour you’d like to go on. So we wended up doing a half day hike with him up the mountain to see a church with amazing panoramic views of the valley. It was a good hike and tour at a fantastic price.at the end, he invited us over for dinner to his house. It doesn’t get much more personal and full service than that. He made us doro wat, an amazing Ethiopian dish, and treated us to locally made tej. Truth is you’d hard pressed to find someone as friendly, generous knowledgeable and hardworking to handle you time in lalibela or Ethiopia. you can contact abebe directly [email protected] +251921963544

  Abebe was the guide for our small group of travelers in Ethiopia From the first moment that we met him we knew that we were going to have a wonderful experience. He embodies all of the characteristics of an outstanding guide: he is funny, patient, flexible, caring and knowledgeable. His English is excellent and he shared his information and stories in an informative and entertaining manner.. However his true value became apparent when political unrest erupted in parts of the country during our visit. He remained calm, despite reports of violence along our route, constantly monitored the situation and made on-the –spot decisions as to how to best manage our itinerary. I highly recommend Abebe to anyone who wants to travel about Ethiopia and both learn and laugh along the way
