Experience the black sand beach of the world-famous South Coast of Iceland on our Polaris 1000 buggies. This 2-hour adventure starts in Hella and takes you to the black sand beach, Þykkvabæjarfjara. There you will experience the power of the Atlantic Ocean, and how it moulds the Icelandic landscape. Included in the tour is a personal guide, and all the gear that you will need for your buggy adventure. The tour has six departure times available on a single day and has a very low guests to guide ratio of 4:1. You can be sure that you will get a very personal experience on this semi-private buggy adventure tour.

An amazing experience riding on the black sand beach next to the crashing waves. Yonas was a great guide, shared lots of knowledge of Iceland. We saw a whale bone, a shipwrecked cargo ship, beautiful views and a surprise waterfall. Highly recommend! So much fun on the sand

We had a great time on our buggy tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of the area. He didn't rush us, and even treated us to some hot chocolate and cookies. I would highly recommend this tour!

Booked this experience after reading the reviews, as my son is a petrol head and loves any driving experiences. Did not disappoint!! Was great fun and really interesting. Had the black sand beach to ourselves. Beautiful low sun on a perfect late May evening. Loads of birds and seals. Expensive, but would highly recommend. Be aware you don't get a buggy each though (2 seater or 4 seater buggies).

Wow what a great excursion! Started off with a warm welcome, then got set up with all the essential gear and explanation on how the buggy operates. The thrill of driving through town and then the trails in an open air buggy was so much fun in March weather. But then we finally reached the black sand beaches and what a sight! Heavy waves crashing in the distance along with black sand as far as the eye could see. We were the only ones on the beach that day and we drove for almost an hour before our guide stopped for photos and shared Icelandic treats and hot chocolate / coffee with us. Very accommodating guide and friendly demeanor throughout made it comfortable and memorable.

Our favorite experience in Iceland! It was so cool. The guide was awesome. We loved it!!!!!! The wet suits are so nice and warm, the ATVs are awesome and he was ready to go when we got there! It was amazing!!!! Side note- His dog Casper is so cute!

Buggies were top of the line. Owner was waiting and ready to go when we arrive. He had all of the necessary equipment to keep us protected and warm as it was raining and windy. It was a beautiful ride and gave us another perspective of the incredible landscape of Iceland that we could have not seen otherwise. We made several stops along the way to learn more about the area and the history. We also had hot chocolate and a delicious Icelandic treat along the shore. We highly recommend you add this experience to your Iceland itinerary--you won't be disappointed.

Probably our favorite highlight of the trip. Worth every penny - The tour guide Jonas was so personable and took us to the most amazing spots during the ride. Such fun & unique experience that capped off the perfect vacation. Will definitely be doing this again - highly recommend

This was by far one of the coolest experiences in Iceland that I’ve had (3rd trip). I highly recommend making this a part of your adventure to Iceland. Seeing the sunset at the black sand beach was nothing short of incredible!
