What To Expect
Mont Saint-Michel
From the Information Centre, you will go to the Mont by free shuttle or on foot, depending on your choice. Your guided and told tour will last two hours through the cobbled streets of the village to the foot of the abbey. You will then know all the secrets of this unique site: the tides, the dam, the bay ecosystem, the entire history of the Mount, from its construction to today, its legends with an experienced guide who will make you love this place and will amuse you with funny and exciting anecdotes. At the end of your tour, the guide will give you the entrance ticket to the abbey, a place that will enhance your experience at the Mount, and avoid queuing at the ticket office.

2.00We were expecting a two hour tour of Mont St Michel to include a visit to the Abbey. Unfortunately, our very pleasant guide met us at the shuttle terminal and we did not get to Mont St Michel itself until 20 mins into the tour time. A lot of time was spent before we entered and also on very interesting stories, but this meant that at 4pm when the tour ended we had not visited the Abbey but were given tickets to enter ourselves after the tour ended Unfortunately our schedule meant that we had to leave so never got to the Abbey which we expected to be included in the Tour. We are so disappointed as we will probably not get another opportunity to visit Mont St Michel.

4.00Very nice tour. 2 knowledgeable guides. One guide was is in training and she did a very nice job. The only critique I would have is that even though the tour was billed as an English tour, we had a French couple join us so the guides had to accommodate the tour in 2 languages. It was a bit distracting. The only other 2 comments I would make is that it would be helpful to let people know that it takes quite a bit of time to get from some of the parking lots to the shuttles and the shuttles can be VERY crowded. Its not as simple to get to the meeting place as it sounds. Also, the tour includes tickets to tour the Abbey (which is great) but the 2 hour tour is all before the Abbey and it takes atleast another hour to tour the Abbey.
