We were lucky enough to be the only two people on this guided trek up to the Taranaki Falls. Our guide, Cami, was absolutely excellent and she was very knowledgeable about the local history and fauna. It was a beautifully scenic walk, with some great views as we went along and Cami’s company and input really made the trip for us. We highly recommend.

This would have been 5 if the weather hadn’t been so bad. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk, but it would have had more wonderful views if it hadn’t been very wet with low cloud, obliterating them. Anthony was a lovely friendly informative guide

Lovely hike to the waterfalls. Our guide Ant was delightful. Despite chilly, windy and rainy weather, enjoyed it very much.

An excellent tour! If you want to experience the beauty of the Tongariro National Park but are short on time or don’t want to/can’t do the full alpine crossing then this is a great alternative. Our tour was led by Ty (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) and he was a fantastic guide; super knowledgeable and his passion for the land made the tour more interesting and enjoyable, which was great. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting this part of the North Island.

My wife and myself did the walk, we enjoyed it so much, the walk itself is a gentle uphill circular stroll to the waterfall, and then back to the visitor centre, our guide was Anthony, he pinpointed out all the flora & fauna which made it so interesting, he was also a very friendly guy and very good communicator.

We had an amazing experience on the 2-hour pre-sunset guided group walk with Kayla! She was absolutely wonderful—such a kind and pleasant person with a great character that made the walk even more enjoyable. The scenery was stunning, and the timing just before sunset made it truly magical. We highly recommend this experience, especially with Kayla as your guide!

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and the pace of the walk was perfect for the small group of 4 adults of differing ages. Lots of Information about various mountains and volcanoes was shared along the way. To just gain the extra star it would have been great to learn more about the plants and ecosystems. We visited just after Daylight saving had started so no chance of seeing sunset, but still an enormously enjoyable afternoon

Our young guide was clearly a very nice person and enjoys walking but we had to keep asking questions the whole walk to get any information from him. He seemed uninspired and might have done the walk too many times or was very shy. You don’t need a guide for this walk at all. It’s on a path and very clear where to go as it’s circular! The walk is worth doing and lasts approx 2 hours crossing streams and with a beautiful waterfall half way. Unfortunately we were disappointed at the lack of information. Also our tour company ‘Trailfinders’ sold this tour as a ‘Sunset tour’ which it might be at some time of the year but not in January as the guide said it was too late to stay for the sunset. We note this is now called a ‘pre- sunset tour’ which it wasn’t when sold to us. In short, take your own tipple , stop when you want to stop, dip in the water if you want to and time it so you see the sun set.

This was a two and a half hour hike which was advertised as a gentle walk. It wasn't. I was told that there would be some steps but in reality it was a difficult climb up steep steps to a waterfall and 100 steep steps back up from it. I am an experienced walker and I found this very difficult. We only stopped once at the falls for half a glass of wine and barely paused for the scenery. Our guide was charming and very patient with me when I struggled with the steps but this should not be advertised as a gentle walk.
