Perched at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters above sea level, this village is renowned for its unique Mbaru Niang houses—distinctive, conical structures that embody the architectural heritage of the Manggarai people. Recognized for its cultural significance, Wae Rebo received the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award in 2012. Accessible only by a trek through lush mountainous terrain, the village offers visitors an immersive experience into the traditional lifestyle and customs of its inhabitants, set against the backdrop of breathtaking natural scenery.
