Fort Good Hope
We make a trip to Fort Good Hope to learn the history about the triangular fort. The Dutch entered into a long-standing relationship with the Agona State to build a permanent fort at Beraku. Benjamin and his driver were excellent guides. I would highly recommend this tour for a thorough overview of the slave trade in that area. They were very accommodating, even with a few minor changes of plans, and we had some delicious meals. I got a feel for the Ghanian culture as well. The owner, Shadrach, who I met at the beginning of the tour, reminded me that their profits go to support an orphanage. This, along with their thoroughness, sets them apart from other tours.
