Sister park, Tsavo West National Park is a surprising mix of rolling hills, volcanic formations, lush springs, and a special rhino sanctuary. You’ll be tracking for big cats in this park and even discover hippos and crocodiles.

7:00 am – You’re on safari so it’s an early rise as your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide comes by to pick you up in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Hop in and we’ll start our adventure headed for Mombasa by the Likoni Ferry. Then we’re onto the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, known as the “Explorers’ Route”, as the sun breaks over the passing fields. In just a few hours we’ll arrive at Tsavo East, its broad expanse and big open sky welcoming us. We’ll visit various watering holes like Mudanda Rock and the Aruba Dam, where the wildlife gather to quench their thirst. There will be plenty of time for animal viewing as well as lunch amidst this expansive natural setting. In the afternoon we’ll set out for more game spotting, and you’ll find yourself getting into the rhythms of the safari life.

We’ll be up before dawn ready to enjoy the sunrise as the park comes alive with wildlife like waterbuck, gerenuk, buffalo, and of course, elephant. Breakfast follows and then another game drive as you scout the savannah for more of the park’s wild inhabitants. It’s a short drive to the rolling green hills of Tsavo West in contrast to the rugged terrain from where we’ve come. This park holds all the big wildlife including rhinos. We’ll visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary where these shy nocturnal creatures dwell. The rhino is an endangered species, but this haven protects and nurtures them in the hopes of increasing their numbers.

It’s our final safari day so let’s rise early to pack in as much wildlife viewing as we can. We’ll see the sun break over the park and one of its unexpected surprises: a lush palm-shaded oasis called Mzima Springs. We’ve spent much of our safari in our 4 x 4 Jeep – here we’ll have the opportunity to climb out and explore by foot. We can walk along the shores of the spring, looking for unique migratory birds and exotic fish. We’ll come upon crocodiles here and hippos as well, thriving in the millions of gallons of freshwater that feeds the spring. This is another kind of safari – peaceful and filled with nature’s colors. We’ll enjoy lunch amidst these natural surroundings and dwell on all that we have experienced. After lunch, we’ll hop into our 4 x 4 Jeep once more for a final game drive as we exit the park, heading back to the coast.

5.00We were picked up in the morning from our hotel in Diani Beach, and drove along a long but beautiful road into the magical world of Tsavo East and West. The red dust, the huge elephant herd (that famous red Savo elephant), the lions, giraffes, zebras lying under the trees - it's like I've been caught up in a National Geographic documentary! Our guide was very knowledgeable, patient, and meticulous in his search for leopards and rhinos. The lodges were cozy, especially at night with the waterhole view - elephants and hippos came right in front! The food was delicious, perfect for a game drive, and there was even a touch of Masai Mara in the landscape. For those who want to relax on the beach and go on a safari, without a plane - it's perfect.

5.00We saw a lot of animals. We got much closer than we expected and had elephants, zebras and more at our lodge. Our guide, Alex, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. The accommodation and food was beyond expectations.

Very knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour and pride in his country not to mention driving very safely. I can definitely recommend this company to anyone planning to go on safari.

The lodges we stayed at were also absolutely incredible and we saw all the wildlife we hoped to see and more. Couldn't recommend it more, everything went extremely smoothly and it far exceeded our expectations. Great value for money!

5.00The Safari was amazing. I did a solo private Safari and I really enjoy my Time during 3 days. Abdul was so professional and friendly. We saw several animals like Lions, Buffalo, Gazelles, Girafes, Zebra and the list is long…Abdul knew very well the park and he makes this experience unforgettable. The views are so beautiful and the lodges chosen in the Safari are the best. Thank you Abdul and Martha, she helped me planning everything in a professional way while I was in France.
