Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Watching Entebbe
You will travel from the mainland (Garuga or Entebbe) to Walindi Point by taking a boat cruise on Lake Victoria. Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world, and it is considered the source of the Nile. As opposed to most other lakes, Lake Victoria (locally called Nnalubaale)is primarily filled by direct rain as opposed to other lakes that have large catchment areas that feed the lake through rivers. Lake Victoria is 59'947 square kilometers large, that is about the same size as countries Togo or Latvia. The lake is rather shallow and was formed by the crust of the earth raising in the vest, as the eastern rift valley (Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchinson Falles National Park) is opening up and as a part of this the edge is rising.
Dinner at viewing deck or around fireplace.

Hiking on Nsadzi Island is a spectacular experience. The island rises high and you will be able to see how wast the lake is, and how beautiful the rocky island contrasts to the lake. You will walk across the top of the island and down on the other side to visit rugged beautiful beaches that are exposed to the full force of the waves from the lake. If the weather is calm, it is possible to pay extra to be picked up by the boat on the other side.

I had a blast with my friends on this tour. The campfires and star gazing here are out of this world. The staff made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the lake-facing tents provided the perfect backdrop. I loved the hikes too, they were challenging but very rewarding.
