We have the whole day to explore Etosha and we want to make the most of it. The park gates open at sunrise and after a early breakfast we will aim to be on our way as the sun breaches the horizon. Early morning is usually a productive time for game viewing and first thing in the morning is a good time to catch big cats returning from the hunt. Etosha is a desert landscape and water is the most scarce natural resource. There are however numerous waterholes here, both natural and man-made, and our game driving technique is to take in as many as possible. Here we hope that the game will come to us as the animals attend for an early morning drink. cContinuing our game drive en route to the camp at Halali. The name for Halali is taken from a bugle refrain that was originally used during sport hunting with horses and hounds in Europe.

Windhoek
After breaking camp for the last time, we will game drive to the park exit, hoping to catch sight of some magnificent predators and plains game before heading south to Windhoek, we stop briefly at the small town of Okahandja to refuel our vehicle. This is also where we will find Namibia’s largest wood carving market. Craftsmen from all over Namibia come here to showcase a wide variety of items both large and small. Here we have the opportunity to collect a truly Namibian souvenir and at the same time to support the local artists and communities. We aim to be back in Windhoek in the late afternoon. There will be a shuttle service to take you to your accommodation within the Windhoek City limits. We recommend Chameleon Backpackers for great value, centrally located, accommodation. We recommend that departure flights are not scheduled for today.

I went on a desert tour! It was a fun group tour, with people from all over the world, and our guide Simon being very unique and always full of jokes! The desert hike, especially on the second day, was harder than we expected, but it was also spectacular, and the night sky at the campsite was inspiring!

Today I came back from my 3 Day Etosha Budget Camping Safari and I find it hard to put this experience into words. The tour was very good and I would highly recommend it to anyone! Chameleon Safaris is a very reliable and trustworthy travel provider and I felt very comfortable throughout (even as a solo traveler woman). I had the opportunity to enjoy the tour and the many animals to the fullest, as our guide Simon took perfect care of everything. Simon was able to answer our questions well and always stood by us if you needed anything, thank you for that! I would always choose to tour Chameleon Safaris and am very grateful and happy for this experience. A big thank you also goes to Simon, because he has made the tour very nice again with his manner and contributes a lot to this positive review - thank you!

My 3-day trip to Etosha National Park with Chameleon Tours was an unforgettable experience! Guide Anton made sure the whole trip went smoothly and exciting, thanks to his extensive knowledge of the park and his enthusiastic personality. From spotting majestic lions to the beautiful herds of elephants passing by, the safari was captivating every minute. Detent was comfortable, and the meals were well taken care of, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The highlight was a spectacular sunset at a waterhole where rhinos and giraffes came together – a truly magical moment! Chameleon Tours ensured a well-organised, safe and adventurous trip, and Anton made it an unforgettable experience with his energy and expertise. Highly recommended!

The trip started off with a busdrive to get to Etosha. On the way to there we saw already some giraffes, warthogs and some springboks. Once we arrived we put up the tent and had some free time while the guide was preparing food. The food was great! It was typical Namibian food and absolutely delicious. We had a safari with an open vehicle so we could have the best experience. The guide made the tour extra good. We had many good talks and he was very kind, thank you Anton! I would recommend chameleon tours to everybody.

Our guide Simon was the absolute best and definitely made the experience!!! He had such an amazing attitude and was so lovely we would definitely ask for him to be our guide if we did it again (which we would!). We had the best time and met such amazing people, making the three days go so so fast! Would 100% recommend, such an amazing experience especially for the price!

It was 3 wonderful days spent with Simon our super guide ! Etosha is a very nice place and the camping was super fun (even if I was a bit cold but it was my bad, my sleeping bag wasn’t enough warm). Simon was fun, smiling, nice cooker and looking after us, ready at any time to help us. We saw beautiful animals (but it’s not a zoo so if you go in a National Park you have to be conscious that maybe you won’t see all the animals that you expected ;) Our guides were very good to spot the animals and showing us (+ explanations about it) Thank you so much for this moment !! An award for Simon who supports me during 7h driving, talking with me about everything !

It delivered all that was promised and we could see all the animals that we could have seen. Our two guides (Gabriel and Johnny) were extremely competent and kind. Sleeping in tents was comfortable too. Flawless.
