Spectacular panorama of the Himalayas in the Annapurans can be spotted from Ghandruk such as Annapurna south, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. There’s also an old Gurung museum at the village. The trek is ideal for anyone who is looking into shorter hikes around Pokhara with easy trekking trails and no difficult ascends/descends.

Meet at your hotel and drive to Nayapul. Trekking starts from Nayapul ascending upto Ghandruk. En-route witness majestic views of Annapurna range, Manaslu and other mountains. In Ghandruk, visit the Gurung museum. You can spot different mountains from Ghandruk like Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Hinuchuli, Fishtail.

Old Gurung Museum
Early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise over the mountains as the first ray of the sun hits the Himalayas. Then after breakfast, trek to Pothana. At first you will have to descend down to Modi Khola then start climbing up to Landruk village. The trial passes thru paddy fields and reaches Deurali. Trekking further will arrive at Pothana.

Early in the morning, spent some time at Pothana. Pothana is on a ridge and offers great views of Annapurna massif, Fishtail and other mountains. The trek then begins to Phedi. En-route, witness some good views of the Himalayas and lush green forests. Upon reaching Phedi, your vehicle will be awaiting and drive you to Pokhara, and drop-off at your hotel.

Phedi is the end point of the trek then drive to Pokhara.

5.00We had an excellent time trekking along the Ghandruk loop trek. Our guide, Milan, was super friendly and helpful. He looked after us and made sure we had the best experience possible. He had a lot of knowledge of the area and was extremely kind and gracious throughout our trek. The loop was a great introduction for beginner trekkers, but it is still quite a workout. We are quite fit and still found it challenging at times, with our legs being quite sore on the last day. Hiking shoes are a must and pack light! Also Make sure you have plenty of cash for drinks, museum entry, and tip for your guide.

5.00We did the ghandruk loop and it was amazing. The landscape was stunning, the annapurna mountain range was amazing and our tour guide was fantastic. When asked what his favourite trek was he replied “I have no favourite trek, I just like meeting my clients” and it really shower. The whole time he was full of local knowledge about agriculture, seasonal change and where to rest and eat. We felt really looked after. I would highly recommend this hike, but be warned it is a work out, but the views and scenery are well worth it.

5.00It was a perfect village tour with a great guide, Gobinda. Everything was well arranged, the view was breathtaking and village life is fascinating. Gobinda knows just what you need, if you want to chat he has a great knowledge to share, but when you want to focus inside, he gives you privacy. Precise and cares about safety. Thank you again, it was a great adventure.

Great hike, amazing views of the mountains and villages, we felt safe and it was fun and knowledgeable with Ramesh and Bhattabaikuntha as our guide and porter (always welcome at ours in Australia!). Would happily recommend it and do it again. We travelled as a couple in our 30s from Australia.
