Start the day with a local breakfast and arrange everything you will need to take for the tour. First you will ride through Bac Sum Pass on the way to the first viewpoint, Heaven’s Gate. At an altitude of 1,500m it offers a view of the twin mountains of Quan Ba. Continuing on through Yen Minh, you will pass the pine forests before stopping for lunch and a rest in Yen Minh town. After lunch you will ride to Tham Ma slope. A beautiful section of road that snakes up the mountain with a viewpoint looking back down through the valley. Next stop is to explore Hmong King’s Palace. A 100 year old palace that was used by the Hmong King in the past. You will arrive in Dong Van town going directly to the homestay where you can shower, change and relax before dinner.
Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Quan Ba Heaven Gate, also known as Quan Ba Pass, stands as one of the first sights on the Ha Giang Loop, situated approximately 47 km away from Ha Giang City. From the summit of this pass, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Ha Giang mountains, offering a glimpse of the landscapes you'll explore during your journey along the loop in the coming days.
Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark
Located in the province of Ha Giang, Dong Van offers a blend of cultural experiences and natural beauty. Its bustling local ethnic market, held every Sunday, is a vibrant display of traditions and customs. Wander through the cozy Old Quarter, filled with charming buildings and it is the start of the famous Ma Pi Leng Pass. As a popular overnight stop along the Ha Giang Loop, Dong Van is a must-visit destination.

Ha Giang
In the morning you will have breakfast at the homestay. You can then change clothes and head to the Du Gia waterfall to swim and relax. Before lunch there is a chance to walk around and explore the village seeing the rice fields and how the locals live. Before leaving Du Gia you will have lunch. After lunch we will head to Lung Tam, a beautiful ride following the river. Heading back to Ha Giang we will stop in Boong Waterfall. Arriving in Ha Giang with time for you to relax and shower in time for the night bus.

3.005 stars to my guide and driver. They were kind, attentive, and did their best to make us comfortable. However, a few issues with the company: 1. Extra charge – I was asked to pay an additional $20 USD after booking for a solo room, which was not mentioned in the description. 2. Vehicle – The listing stated car or jeep, but a minibus arrived with no prior notice. 3. Accommodation – I expected simple, but there is a difference between simple and clean, and simple and messy. The first night was not clean. The second night was good. 4. The Loop – The route felt overwhelming, with heavy motorbike traffic and narrow roads, some affected by landslides and construction, which did not feel safe

He struck a perfect balance between giving us space to enjoy the incredible scenery and also talking with us and providing information far beyond what we could have found without a local guide. The scenery on the loop was spectacular, the food was delicious, the accommodation was clean and welcoming and the company was the cherry on top of the whole experience. Thank you, Thang!

The drivers were excellent, and the entire experience was fantastic. We chose the 2-night, 3-day tour, which was the perfect length for us. Everything was well organized and very comfortable.
