Join a team of expert photographers for an intensive 3-day photography workshop to capture the sights and attractions that make NYC so legendary. Your 3-day photo “boot camp” begins with a “Nuts and Bolts session” in which you’ll learn basic photography skills and how to best utilize your camera’s settings, such as aperture and shutter speed. Afterward you’ll move on to a series of daytime and nighttime shooting sessions. Photograph the Brooklyn Bridge during both day and at night, the Manhattan skyline in the evening from both the Top of the Rock and Brooklyn, several famous locations in Central Park and such additional landmarks as the Flat Iron Building, Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, Wall Street, Chinatown, the Lower East Side, Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, Times Square and the New York Public Library. Snap pics of new and old structures, taxi cabs and subways and the people and places that represent Manhattan’s immigrant history with visits to both Chinatown and the Lower East Side. Discover the best lens to choose for a particular subject matter, how to use your flash, working with long exposures and more. Expect to be away from your hotel 12-13 hours each day and shooting 6-9 hours. You will walk approximately 3 to 4 miles a day and take more than 250 pictures daily. While it’s a rigorous schedule with minimal downtime, you will leave NYC with some amazing photos and incredible memories of NYC icons and the new skills to capture similar future photos on your own. This Manhattan “photo boot camp” is not for the faint of heart and can be exhausting. Still, this is a unique and worthwhile opportunity to not only photograph NYC, but to truly experience the Big Apple.

I can highly recommend this photography workshop to anybody, who wants to really get into photography. You learn hands on from highly skilled photographers, who help you to become better in what you are doing. I would have never expected to get as much, as I have gotten from this experience and can therefore highly recommend this photo safari.

Fantastic way to improve your photography skills and to enjoy the city without worries and waste of time. Zim has been a fantastic tutor and we definitely enjoyed NYC even more because of her. If you can book a provate tour - definitely worth the investment.

I’ve just returned from the 3 day boot camp workshop after going on many of their photo safaris over the past 3 years. I’m always thrilled with my images when I get back, this time was no different. They’re fantastic at getting us to the best locations at the best time - and also unique spots I’d never find. All the instructors I’ve had make sure everyone has great images. My favorite sessions are the bridges at night. I’ll keep coming back for more!

It was a great tour! I learned so much new about photography and that in the beautiful surroundings of NYC. Zim is not the typical tour guide and this is not a tour that let's you do the usual photos from NYC icons. Zim is a professional photographer who shares a lot of tips sometimes simple, sometimes more difficult to implement, but always adding to your tools. I can recommend any of Zim's tours highly to anyone who is a decent hobby photogrpaher and wants to learn really useful things about perspective, composition and night photography!

We packed so much into three very long days and I learned many useful shooting techniques including how to use my own camera much better. My highlights were the three night shoots we did and the time we spent walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. The night photography in NYC by itself was worth the price of admission. Zim and her team of photographers are extremely talented and knowledgeable and they opened my eyes to architectural photography by teaching me creative ways to capture unique images of buildings in NYC. This bootcamp is a great way to learn how to use your camera better and capture some amazing shots of NYC. Highly recommend.

On September 15th,16th and 17th 2017 I was fortunate to have attended Manhattan Photo Boot Camp - 3 full day session. Each day, the photo sessions started at 12:30 pm and ended approximately 10:30 pm each evening touring every part of Manhattan in every direction. It sounds like alot but each day just flew by. The instructors were incredibly professional and patient. They imparted their vast photographic knowledge, taking their time to explain the composition and reason/purpose of each shot. It was a lot of information and I definitely grow as a photographer. I want give big thank you Zim, who took her time to answer all of my question not matter how insignificant. She help me "think outside the box" to examine some of my preconceived ideas and in a new light (no pun intended...not). Thank you, Thank you Zim for opening eyes and ears and to new ideas and images. Your generosity and support was very much appreciated. Anyone who is thinking of taking a 3 hours or 3 day session with NYC Photo Safari, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy !!!
