This is the original 3-day Transylvania itinerary we launched to show Romania’s incredible variety in limited time. Travel privately with your own guide and go where tour buses cannot go: Peleș Castle, Bran Castle, Brașov, UNESCO Viscri, and the UNESCO citadel of Sighișoara (with one night inside the walled old town, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler). The second night is in a remote countryside / Carpathian mountain area, so you experience both famous landmarks and the quieter, authentic side of Transylvania. Expect clear storytelling that separates Dracula myth from real history, plus a comfortable vehicle, flexible stops, and smooth logistics along the way. If you only have three days, this is the most complete Transylvania overview we can fit without turning it into a rushed checklist. Because we cover a lot in just 3 days, one day is naturally a bit longer, but the route is well balanced. A reasonable mobility level is needed (cobblestones, some stairs, short walks).

Arrive in the countryside where the time appears to stand still. The remote villages of Pestera and Magura are situated right between Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains, miles away from bustle of the urban life. Magura
If weather permits, after breakfast you will have a couple of hours walk in the villages under the mountain or even have hike to the Zarnesti Gorge. There is a lot of natural variety available all seasons for everyone to enjoy. The actual walk/hike will be personalized on the spot.
Viscri
On the way to Sighisoara, stop in Viscri village to visit one of the most important Saxon fortified churches. Its name comes from the German Weisse Khirche, meaning white church. Viscri was built around 1100 and is considered a unique gothic church. It was designated in 1993 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Centrul Istoric Sighisoara
Like most of the cities of Transylvania, Sighișoara is also a city built by the Saxon colonists, but different from the others by the fact that it is the only currently inhabited citadel in Europe, and listed in the UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. your guide will drive you to Brasov, one of the largest medieval towns in Transylvania. We will have a walking tour of the old city, visiting the main landmarks and we will go also for a short cable car ride (if available), to the top of the nearby mountain of a better view of how a medieval town looks like.
The drive back to Bucharest will take a minimum of 3 hours. In the evening, the tour ends in Bucharest where your guide will drop you at your hotel or any other place in the town of your choosing.

5.00Our trip to Romania was an experience of a lifetime, thanks to the incredible service from Book Tours Romania. From planning to post-trip follow-up, the level of care was unmatched. Planning: About a month before departure, Bogdan reached out via Zoom to customize our itinerary. He was professional, accommodating, and researched every local requirement to ensure a smooth trip. He even handled a last-minute vehicle upgrade to a van when I realized our four large suitcases wouldn't fit in a sedan—no questions asked. The Team: Our airport driver, Paul, was welcoming and shared great local insights immediately. Our primary guide, John, was phenomenal. He met us in the lobby the night before our tour to introduce himself and gifted us a lovely bottle of Romanian wine—a personalized touch we didn’t expect. Bucharest: John showed us the Historical Village Museum and Ceausescu’s former mansion (both must-sees). He kept the van stocked with cold water and snacks and even took us to Obor Market by request. When jet lag hit, he easily adjusted the schedule to our energy levels. Transylvania: We highly recommend the 3-day private tour. John’s driving was smooth and efficient. We visited Peles and Bran Castles, which are essential stops. In Brasov, we stayed at the Schuster House; the boutique service and breakfast were stellar (note: no gym and coffee starts at 7:30 AM, but the Prosecco welcome was a treat!). Highlights: Sighisoara was the absolute highlight—truly enchanting. We also visited Viscri, and while the town was interesting, Sighisoara was the real star. John joined us for an excellent lunch at Georgius Krauss Restaurant, which we had all to ourselves. Going Above & Beyond: When we got briefly separated at Peles Castle due to a ticketing issue, both Bogdan and John stayed in constant communication via WhatsApp until we reconnected. It was incredibly reassuring. The Guide (John): John has the energy of ten guides. He was professional, respectful, and protected us from typical tourist mishaps. His ability to navigate local authorities and unique requirements was "golden." He even messaged us after we departed to ensure we reached our next destination safely. If you want a marvelous, stress-free experience in Romania, request Bogdan for planning and John as your guide. They truly treat you like family!

5.00Four couples had taken a river cruise and at the end of the river cruise. We wanted to spend three days touring Romania. The company helped us organize an itinerary in a very professional manner. They listened to things we wanted to do and made recommendations. We couldn’t have been happier with the final itinerary that they set up for us. The guide was very knowledgeable about Romania including the history, the quaint villages, the beautiful scenery, awesome castles and fortress. We left Romania very impressed with the country. Bogdan’s administrative skills and communication were excellent and our guide Marcel was knowledgeable, flexible and cheerful. The overnight accommodation was very good - providing a great experience within a walled UNESCO old town and also in a country chalet. We strongly recommend this company as they are professional and competent.

5.00Marcel could not have been a better tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history, customs, etc. of Romania, and presented it so that even I, who am not a history lover, was interested. The car and accommodations were first class. He took excellent care of us and was very accommodating. Definitely a first-class experience, I highly recommend it.

5.00Our local guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on Romanian history and culture and possessed excellent English skills (He spoke 5 languages). He booked all the tours and side excursions. The accommodations were both first-rate and historically significant. His schedule provided free time so we could explore some to the sites on our own. The travel routes he selected minimized the time spent traveling from one site to another.

5.00If you are looking for a place where to find amazing landscapes, vibrant and full of history cities and delicious food look no further. We did the 3 days tours of Transylvania and loved every second of it. Bogdan has been incredibly professional and provided us all the details we needed before our trip and beyond! Our guide, Gelu, was very knowledgeable and friendly and went the extra mile to accommodate all our needs. We felt like with this tour we gained a better knowledge of the history of the country, got to visit places that we would have never found in our own (the hotel in Magura was amazing), got insights on the culture from a local and a lot of useful food recommendations. Highly recommend tour :)

5.00I had a very nice 3 day private tour with Bogdan. Brasov and Sighisoara are beautiful places to visit and I very much enjoyed learning about the history of Romania. You can tell quite easily that Bogdan loves his country and enjoys teaching others about it. The castles, historic buildings, the small villages and the restaurants were awesome. The accommodations (Fronius Residence and Samedru Guest House) were fantastic...both providing wonderful glimpses into the history and scenery of Transylvania. I appreciate that Bogdan took the time to adapt the tour to the things I enjoy such as visiting old cemeteries. I am also very appreciative of Bogdan and all of the help he provided me during my time in Romanian. He was also very eager to help me practice my Romanian language skills. Highly recommend this tour
