Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
We hope that your flight is for an early landing (not past 10:00am) in Uganda. Your safari will start from Entebbe International Airport where the assigned Professional Tour Driver-guide will receive you and then depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda harboring over 300 of them (which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population). The drive will take you southwest Uganda by road, cross the Equator mark then to Mbarara City for Lunch and through the hilly terrain of western Uganda into Bwindi. You will arrive and do little but just check in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the next day.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger-guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

We are a retired couple from Canada and recently did the gorilla trekking with home to Africa tours and travel. Our guide was Karim. Karim made our adventure very enjoyable. He was extremely knowledgable always friendly and willing to help in any way he could we would highly recommend this tour company and especially if you could request Karim as your driver. The experience of seeing the gorillas in the wild was truly amazing. Of the lodges that we stayed at our favourite was hyena Lodge near Mburo lake. The accommodations were amazing and the food was very good along with friendly staff. If you get a chance to visit Uganda, be sure and use home to Africa and ask for Karim. The prices are very reasonable in comparison to other companies.

We had a wonderful time in Uganda and the 3 days to Gorilla/Bwindi Forest and Lake Bunyonyi was not long enough. However all was good under the care of Derrick our tour driver who shared his wildlife and fauna knowledge with us. He was excellent and a superb timekeeper. We achieved what we had set out to do smoothly thanks to Home To Africa. Would certainly book with them again. However would like to comment that there is room for better communication during the booking process.

One of the best experiences of my life, would highly recommend!!! I went on a 3 Day Gorilla trek and absolutely loved it. I could not have been happier with the guide/driver Huzaima, he was friendly, helpful, insightful and an absolute pleasure to be around. Thanks for everything, I wish more guides were like you.

I had a customized trip to Murchison Falls in November, and Home to Africa Tours and Travel was so flexible and prepared the tour exactly as I wanted! They didn't mind making adjustments and propositions to respond to my needs, and they were quick in replying as well. During the trip, Eli was the best guide!! He was knowledge, funny, friendly and caring. As female solo travel I also felt very safe, so totally recommended! Only one note: some information provided regarding activities with extra cost were not updated - good if the company could check before. Finally, I totally recommend both Eli and Home to Africa Tours and Travel for an amazing experience in Uganda!!

The three-day safari was fantastic. The accommodation was of high quality with very friendly, almost overly caring staff. The coordination and answering of queries before the actual safari with Home of Africa was always prompt and competent (additional night in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary / different location on the return journey). Our guide Wellen was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, respectful and super punctual ;-). He answered all questions and was very willing to accommodate our requests on site. His very relaxed and calm driving style meant that the very long journey there and back and also the many hours in the car on the safari itself were very bearable. In that respect, it was a perfect overall package that I can recommend with a clear conscience.

This trip was spectacular! We only wished we could stay even longer because it was so amazing. Everything was included and personalized. Our guide, Huzaima, really made the trip so special. He was well-informed on the environment and the animals and made us feel very comfortable in the lodging. The car was clean and comfortable as well. I would recommend this trip to everyone and anyone visiting Uganda- it is amazing for the price that you pay.

The 3-day safari in Murchison Falls National Park far exceeded my expectations. My driver Benon picked me up on time in Entebbe and accompanied me throughout the journey including my onward journey to Rwanda. Murchison Falls National Park's wildlife diversity was simply overwhelming. Not only the game drive but also the boat trip on the Nile offered incredible wildlife viewing opportunities! Visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuari was also a very worthwhile detour. Accommodation at Murchison Falls Lodge was very good including meals. Benon was an attentive and helpful guide and a safe driver. I can only recommend Home to Africa Tours!
