Bayon Temple
The Bayon or state temple of Jayavarman VII is one of the most enigmatic and power religious constructions in the world. It is a unique mass of “faces tower” which creates a stone- a mountain of ascending peaks. There were originally 49 towers of which 37are still standing today. Most are carved with four faces on each cardinal point. The central tower has many more.
Terrace of the Elephants
The Elephant Terrace is at the heart of Angkor Thom and looks out overage Royal spare. It marks the entrance to the Royal Palace and was the focal point for Royal receptions. The Carving of the elephants along its Wall gives it its modern name.
Terrace of the Leper King
This massive terrace is named after the 15th-century sculpture that was discovered on top of it. It probably dates back to the reign of Jayavarman VII and has been restored in a manner, which allows visitors to explore the earliest to most recent additions by actually entering the internal layers of the structure. Ta Prohm Temple is the jungle temple.
Ta Prohm
Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII as a royal monastery. It was dedicated to the king’s mother. This temple was chosen to be left in its natural state as an example of how most Angkor looked, upon its rediscovery in the 18th century. Shrouded in jungle, the temple of Ta Prohm is ethereal in aspect and conjures up a romantic aura with gigantic roots and branches intimately intertwined with the stoned and probing walls to form a natural roof above the man-made structures.
Angkor Wat
Afternoon The City of Angkor is one of the grandest monuments ever constructed. The entire complex covers approximately 164sq miles with over 200 temples. Among the 30 temples that are accessible today, the most famous is Angkor Wat, the largest religious building in the world, with a volume of stone equaling that of the Cheops pyramid in Egypt. Conceived by Suryavarman II early 12th century, Angkor Wat took an estimated 30 years to build. Unlike most other Khmer temples, it faces west; the most likely reason is that the temple was dedicated to Vishnu, who is sometimes associated with the West.
Phnom Bakheng
Bakeng Mountain is the best place to see the beautiful sunset, In the late 9th century, it was the state temple of the first capital of Angkor. Begin the ascent from the east side at the foot of the hill close to the road. The view from the top is magnificent, particularly of Angkor Wat to the South East and is the most popular spot for tourists in the same period.
Angkor Wat
05:00, depart for a beautiful sunrise tour at Angkor Wat In the morning you will continue your temple visit Banteay Srei Temple, (Option for you if you don't want to wake up in the early morning it's fine)
Banteay Srei
Banteay Srei Temple is the most exquisite temple in the complex. Banteay Srei is the “Citadel of a woman” or “Citadel of Beauty” presumably referring to its size and the delicacy of its decoration. Unlike the major sites at Angkor, Banteay Srei was not a royal temple. It was built not by the kings, but by Brahmin Priests often described in teams as the “Jewel of Khmer Art” Banteay Srei is a temple of great beauty and compares with little else in Angkor. Its miniature scale almost always surprises visitors, and the near-total decoration of its surfaces are exceptional. For its protection, the most inner spaces of the temple are closed to the public
Eastern Mebon
Mebon temple was constructed in 952 in 10th century AD. East Mebon Temple was also constructed by king Rajendravarman II (944-967). King Rajendravarman II constructed East Mebon Temple to dedicate to his parents and also to Hindu Trinity Gods. Mebon has a meaning in Cambodian as ‘Magic Merits’. East Mebon Temple was chosen to construct on the island Yasotatska (Eastern Baray or reservoir). Yasotataka has a measure of 1,50km X 7km. As this temple located on the island of a manmade lake, at that time people came to worship in this Temple by using a boat.
Ta Som
Temple of Ta Som was constructed by King Jayavarman VII (1181-1220). The king constructed Ta Som in order to honor his older sister, at the end of the 12th century. As sister is not as important as parents, that is why her temple shrine is much smaller. Ta Som is one of three temples constructed by Jayavarman VII, which associated location across the lake Jayatataka.
Neak Pean
‘Neak Pean’ in Khmer meaning as ‘Nagas Intertwining Tails’, due to two Nagas, which one on the right is believing as the male and another on the left was considered as female (Nagin), they put their bodies at around the temple base and their tails joining altogether. The Naga and Nagi intertwining is the symbol of intercourse action of their happiness.
Preah Khan
Build in the 12th century was one of Jayavarman VII’s largest projects dedicated to his father. Preah Khan was much more than a temple with over 1,000 teachers it appears also to have been a Buddhist university as well as a considerable city. You can cross Preah Khan from the East to West or vice versa. As you walk, be aware by the magnificent stone sculptures of giant garudas, each one grasping the tail of a naga, its traditional enemy, in each hand. He restorations of Preah Khan is currently undertaken by the World Monuments Fund, a US-based foundation.
Bakong
Start from 08:00 or 08:30 to Bakong Temple Bakong is located at Roluos Group south of Preah Ko. Enter and leave the temple to the east. A modern Buddhist temple is situated to the right of the east entrance to Bakong. It was built in the late century (881) by king Indravarman I dedicated to Siva (Hindu) followed Preah Ko art style.
Preah Ko
Preah Ko was the first temple to be built in the ancient and now defunct city of Hariharalaya (in the area that today is called Roluos), some 15 kilometers south-east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia. The temple was built under the Khmer King Indravarman I in 879 to honor members of the king's family, whom it places in relation to the Hindu deity Shiva.
Lolei
Lolei temple is comparable in situation to the Mebon of the eastern baray, forming an island in the middle of the Indratataka-a large reservoir of 3800m east-west by 800 north-south -whose excavation started, so the inscriptions tell us, five days after the consecration of Indravarman I, in order to provide the capital city (Hariharalaya) with water and to irrigate the surrounding plains. The stele explains that the temple was dedicated to Indravarmesvara in memory of Yasovarman's father-it constituted, according to Mr. Coedes, the foundation charter of a series of identical hermitages, all with the name Yasodharasrama, which were constructed by order of the king in the year of his accession
Kompong Phluk
Kompong Phluk is located on the Tonle Sap, a lake and river system that extends throughout Cambodia. It is the largest lake in South East Asia as well as a UNESCO Biosphere site due to its ecology and endangered flora and fauna. It is of extreme importance to Cambodians who live on it and earn their living from fishing.

We participated in a three-day Temple tour with Hidden Angkor, guided by Veasna, who demonstrated exceptional knowledge. As a former monk, he possesses excellent English skills and an extensive understanding of Cambodia's history and each temple we visited. He is a certified guide, which is not the case for all tour guides. Our experience was well-managed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. I highly recommend this tour operator. A couple of suggestions: wear appropriate and comfortable footwear (definitely avoid flip-flops) and bring a small towel to keep in the ice box with the water, as it will be useful for cooling off.

Our family had an exceptional three days with our tour guide, Veasna. His command of English and extensive knowledge about the sites we explored, as well as the lives of rural Cambodians, were truly enlightening. Our discussions on Cambodia's history offered insights that surpassed anything we had encountered in textbooks. Veasna's deep understanding of the construction of the temples and the meticulous efforts required to maintain them, especially considering they are built on sand, was particularly captivating. Learning about the significant manual labor involved in creating the temple moats was equally fascinating. Additionally, his skill in guiding us to the unique features of the temples ensured that we experienced sights that we would have overlooked if we had ventured alone. He exemplifies professionalism, attending to even the smallest details that greatly enhance the experience, such as providing a power bank for phone charging, offering cold water, and assisting with entering and exiting the van and boats. His advice on local customs helped me navigate the cultural landscape without feeling awkward or uninformed. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with him and his professional driver, who skillfully navigated a modern, air-conditioned vehicle that provided us with comfort during the entire trip. We are genuinely grateful for the chance to have met him.

Experiencing Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and the numerous other temples is truly thrilling. Having a tour guide like Mr. Lion, who is both knowledgeable and passionate, makes it even more special. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The tour was a fantastic blend of exploring the temples and venturing into some lesser-known areas, all while receiving an incredible history lesson. Lion is truly invaluable. He also suggested a fantastic restaurant near the temple area, and the food I had during our lunch break was exceptional. This has been one of the best tours I've ever taken. I highly recommend visiting Siem Reap, and if you do, the Hidden Angkor Tour is fantastic. Make sure to check if Lion is available, as he is truly one of a kind.
