We did a 3-day Gorilla Trekking Tour with Dav Safaris and the whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Everything was very well organised, so even with the short timeframe and long travel times, we were able to make the most of it. The gorilla trekking itself was absolutely unforgettable and worth every bit of effort to get there. Both accommodations during the trip were very well chosen - in a beautiful area, very comfortable and the food was delicious. Our guide, Solomon, was professional, kind and very knowledgeable. He always made sure that we had the best experience and truly made the trip stand out. I would definitely recommend Dav Safaris, especially if you’re short on time but still want a great adventure. We‘ll remember this great experience for a very long time.

After searching for tours on the internet, I booked the tour which is actually spread over 4 days inc travelling with Davs Safari from the UK before coming to Uganda. Communicating by whatsap and email. I was met by my Guide (Julias) in Jinja and set off on a 4 day tour. Due to my location the transfer on the 1st day was very long, this wasn’t a problem as I was able to take in so much of the local community and experience real local life. Julia’s pointed out a fare bit of knowledgeable attractions and assisted with any of my requests. Be prepared for a bumpy ride at times (Ugandan massage) id suggest that older or more disabled travellers request comfortable transport whilst booking your trip as some roads are not as smooth as others, don’t feel intimidated not to ask the guide to slow down or speed up. Meal plans throughout were catered for and were of good standard and variety, all I had to pay for were my drinks, after reading the contract back I should have only had to pay for alcoholic drinks so make sure you confirm this from the start. I was impressed by all the lodges booked bar one which didn’t seem to have a lot on the menu for breakfast and dinner. All staff were friendly and helpful no matter where I went, there’s a lot of security around so safety wasn’t an issue. Be sure to understand the currency and best to use local shillings UGX or Visa pay (we know it as contactless or card payment) I wasn’t hassled to tip staff at locations, I used discretion and gave as necessary which was really appreciated by the staff. Pack light get all the equipment you need for hiking and get yourself fit for an enjoyable experience. From nature walks, bird spotting, local charitable events, coffee making and banana beer and Gin experience to the highlight of going hiking to see the Gorillas, all was enjoyable. Those with disabilities can hike on certain tours as the local staff will arrange for assistance at a cost. The tours were impressive and I got what I paid for, my only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see a full grown silver back Gorilla like I wanted too, however I didn’t get to see and get close to a family of Gorillas and take some memorable photos. If at all your itinerary has to change in any way discuss this with your guide and then his/hers supervisor, something is always workable. I must again say that my guide was superb all the way, honest reliable and willing to address any issue. The tour itself was good value for money and definitely worth the money I spent.

From start to finish, our experience with Dav Safaris in Uganda was nothing short of incredible. A huge part of that is because of our amazing driver and guide, Jeck. He is not only knowledgeable and professional, but genuinely funny, kind, and made us feel completely safe every single mile of the journey we called Organized Chaos. His sense of humor kept us laughing, and his calm confidence made even the longest drives feel easy and enjoyable. Every accommodation Dav Safaris arranged offered something special and unique—each stay felt like its own adventure rather than just a place to sleep. From peaceful lodges to unforgettable locations, we were constantly surprised by how thoughtfully everything was planned. Seeing the Mountain Gorillas up close was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left us in awe and deeply grateful. We also had the thrill of zip lining over Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in the world, which was both breathtaking and exhilarating. Taking a boat ride out to a bungalow felt surreal and peaceful, like stepping into a postcard. On top of all that, getting to try so many different African cuisines was a delicious adventure in itself—every meal added to the richness of the experience. This trip was perfectly balanced with adventure, culture, comfort, and care. Dav Safaris and Jeck didn’t just plan a trip—they created memories we’ll cherish forever. Highly, highly recommend.

We had an unforgettable experience with Dav Safari, and a big part of it was thanks to our incredible guide, Salomon. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always kind and attentive to our needs. What really made the difference was that Salomon went far beyond what was expected of him. For example, when we only had large U.S. dollar bills, he personally went to withdraw local currency for us and gave it to us, saving us a lot of trouble. On another occasion, when we had a problem with the car, he solved it immediately by finding a service at a gas station within five minutes, and we were back on the road right away. The organization by Dav Safari was excellent from start to finish. Everything was well planned and smooth, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience. The trekking with chimpanzees and gorillas was absolutely unforgettable — emotional, exciting, and truly once-in-a-lifetime. We highly recommend Dav Safari and especially Salomon to anyone looking for a well-organized, authentic, and memorable adventure.

Our 4-day tour in Uganda with Dav Safaris was absolutely magnificent and truly unforgettable. We chose the itinerary focused on chimpanzee trekking in Kibale and gorilla trekking in Bwindi, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The organization was impeccable from start to finish. A special mention goes to our guide, Salomon, who made all the difference: always kind, extremely professional, and constantly attentive to our needs. He made sure we never lacked anything and was always available with a smile. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and well selected, and the food was consistently very good throughout the trip. Highly recommended Dav Safaris for a Uganda trip!

From the moment we were picked up at our hotel in Entebbe we were treated to an informative and well run tour. Our guide and driver Joyous was extremely knowledgeable in answering all of our questions and pointing out the sites along the way. He would go out of his way to show us his beautiful country and knew all the best spots for scenic pictures, clean restrooms and amazing food. When booking, ask for Joyous to be your guide. You will not be disappointed. All accommodations were above and beyond any expectations we could have had with clean comfortable rooms, great food and friendly and attentive staff. Starting with the chimpanzee trek in Kimbale NP was an amazing experience. We were welcomed by friendly locals and the rangers/trackers were amazing. The chimps were absolutely beautiful in their natural habitat!! The next day was the gorilla trek in Bwindi NP and we are still in awe of that experience. Life changing to say the least! Again, the locals and rangers/trackers were wonderful and hiring a local porter for help on the trail was indispensable. If possible, ask for Justine!! She is the best! From beginning to end the experience was flawless. We hope to inspire more to take this amazing adventure with DAV Safaris. Destination Adventure Vacation all in one. Worth every penny and more.
