Both my wife and I cannot read Chinese, and were quite worried when booking the private tour starting from Chengdu. Mrs Nancy Liu, the senior tour consultant who handled our booking, was very helpful and prompt in answering our queries and looking into every minute detail. She was very precise and concise in her instructions including our to and fro high speed train journey. The tour itself was informative and covered many interesting places. Our tour guide was very punctual and her vast knowledge made it possible for us to appreciate the tour even more. We also moved around in a comfortable car with a careful driver who never kept us waiting. My verdict? An interesting and informative tour superbly handled by a very reliable company that delivers what it promises. Thanks CXT.

Xian: what a magical place!!!! So full of history and charming lights. I was a solo traveler who joined a small guided tour to the following attractions: TerraCotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Xi’an Great Wall, Muslim quarter/ snack street, Drum/Bell Tower, Xi’an Museum and Everbright City. You would think it’s not possible to do so many things in 3days but if you have an expert guide like hours, you can do this and more!!!! Noble was our guide and what an amazing guide he is. Speaks English really well (self-taught), enthusiastic & passionate about the history of his town, and has great people skills. He was such a wealth of knowledge and he tells the stories with so much pride in his voice, that you can’t help but fall in love with Xi’an and the history of the country in general. He suggested a show that tells the history of the beginning of the Silk Road & boy were we in for a treat!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾What a spectacular show, with real camels and real wolf dogs. Do yourself a favor and ask your guide about this hour long show. The tickets are a bit steep but oh so worth it!!!! It’s in Chinese but there‘a a screen that has English translation. Our guide also took us to a restaurant that’s famous for local cuisine and everything we tried on the menu, we like. The dinner was followed by a walk in Everbright City which was breathtaking!!!! 😍🥰😍 One can’t get over the beauty of those lights. Every place we went to came with great history lessons from Noble that one would definitely not get from the internet, no matter how much you Google. Highlights of the tour: meeting the farmer who discovered the Terra-cotta Warriors, what an honor!, The start of The Silk Road show, Terra-Cotta Warriors, seeing that many real artifacts in Xi’an Museum & of course, Everbright City. I even went back to Everbright City during the day. Lowlights of the tour: traffic. 😭😭😭 Do not make the mistake (like we did) of booking this tour during peak season. To say it was busy would be an understatement!!!!! Though our guide knew all the back alleys and meandered us expertly, there was no way of avoiding traffic unfortunately. We missed going to the big Pagoda on the scheduled day coz of it, but we fitted it on the next day. 2. It rained so much on our last day. 😭😭😭 And most of our activities were outside. Both of these were out of control for our guide and noone’s fault really so we understood but our guide also made the rainy day enjoyable. I’d give my guide (Noble Liu) a 15/10 for his knowledge and people’s skills. The trip itself is a 12/10. 😍😍😍 If you’re a history geek and you haven’t been to Xi’an, you are missing out!!!!

This has been an amazing experience with Joy travel and our excellent tour guide Noble. No words can express our review (my husband and I). Our first tour in China since we have been here and we are looking forward to many more to come. From the magnificent hotel, to having a reliable driver during this holiday period, Noble our fantastic tour guide. We learned so much details about each place we visited. At the Muslim quarters we got to taste so many different delicious foods. When we visited the Pagoda and the Buddhist temple Noble taught us so much about the history related to it. Visiting the terracotta army was so memorable as we learned how to identify the different warriors by their hats they wore and what the different pits were related to. We also got to meet the farmer who discovered the army, took a photo and got to go shopping around for Jade. Noble gave us great advice about where we should buy souvenirs from. Noble also recommended the beautiful and we'll organized show about the silk road. He also took us for some local Shaanxi cuisine which was so delicious. We visited the city wall and not forgetting the Pagodas. Without our tour guide we would have not learned anything. We really appreciated having Noble explain in English and with so much details. We learned about the history in Xi'an, different dynasties, Buddhism, the silk road and so much more. I would definitely recommend Joy travel to any foreigner visiting China and if they are visiting Xi'an, please make sure you get Noble as a tour guide. He's the best!

We had to cancel our trip to Xian unexpectedly due to a death in our family. This company refunded our trip very promptly. We will definitely be dealing with them again. Highly recommend them - check out reviews for yourself
