What To Expect
Prepare for a magnificent evening on a unique sunset cruise in Providenciales. The natural spectacle of this marine mating ritual—when thousands of glow worms (odontosyllis enopla) illuminate the sea during their spawning cycle—never ceases to amaze and delight people of all ages. This species of marine worm, known more commonly as a glow worm, inhabits the shallow waters around a few secluded cays. The show begins shortly after sunset, when female glow worms release their eggs, which float to the surface and give off pulses of pale green light. The males also glow with this bioluminescence as they dart among the egg clusters to fertilize them. For approximately 15 to 20 minutes, you’ll see the surface of the water come alive with tiny bursts of light as a new generation is spawned! Enjoy complimentary rum punch, local beers, wine, soft drinks and bottled water accompanied by a selection of local appetisers. The timing of this glow worm mating ritual is controlled by natural forces and tied to the lunar cycle so this tour is only available for three days each month. The boat used for this tour is usually our Power Catamaran but occasionally our Sail Catamaran is used.

5.00This is a must do if you come on the island when the tour is being offered. The experience is so cool between the sunset, seeing the glowworms and watching the sky light up with all the stars. The staff is very accommodating and made the tour a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

5.00This was our favorite excursion this week. The crew made it so much fun with a great party vibe. The stargazing was amazing and we saw so many glow worms! Snacks and drinks served and the rum was flowing! The glow worms don’t photograph well but are awesome in person.

3.00The boat was great, and the crew was very good and knowledgeable of the area. The ride was comfortable and we felt safe. But there was some concerning behavior with little children sitting on the edge with their feet hanging out without parents holding on to them and no crew member making them aware of the danger. It made the ride quite uncomfortable for many of us on board worrying about them. In the evening, there was also a crew member pouring rum into guests mouths directly… frat house style. Very fun for some crowds, but this was advertised as a family activity and there were lots of children on board. The glow worm part was short and it was not a “glow” at all. It was like seeing a few (very few) fireflies in the water every few minutes.
We had a blast, fun and different experience that you can’t find anywhere else!
