I completed this guided tour with Mohammed who was funny, charming, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took me through the historical and physical labyrinth of Stone Town, its stories, alleys, markets, doors, mosques/churches/temples, people, and colors. I was able to store my luggage at a local restaurant whose owner knew Mohammed, buy an authentic african mask I am thrilled with, and Mohammed even walked me to the restaurant I wanted to have dinner at after. Very happy with the tour, I highly recommend it.

This tour is extremely informative. There is a good balance of history and detail regarding current state of affairs. As a solo traveler, I felt extremely safe with Rakib. He is extremely polite, patient and professional. Would highly recommend him as a tour guide ☺️. Note: Some of the sites require payment for entry so do ensure you have some cash on you.

This 3-hour walking tour of Stone Town was informative, engaging, and well-paced. Our guide was knowledgeable and brought the history, culture, and hidden stories of Stone Town to life while walking through its narrow streets and iconic landmarks. We covered key sights, learned about Zanzibar’s rich heritage, and got great local insights you wouldn’t find on your own. It’s the perfect way to experience Stone Town in a short time and a must-do for first-time visitors.

We loved our tour of Stonetown. Raquib was an excellent guide and tailored the walk to our interests. You should be prepared for the heat and wear good walking shoes. Also many of the historic buildings are under restoration. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar.
