This excursion was hands down the highlight of our trip to Zanzibar! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and delivered an unforgettable experience. A special shout-out to Sultan, our guide, who was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the rich history of Prison Island, but also one of the friendliest people we met in Zanzibar. His energy and storytelling made the day feel personal and engaging. On the water, we were treated to the warm hospitality of the captain and chef, who made us feel completely safe and relaxed on the boat. The meal he prepared was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked with so much care. He also took us scuba diving and made us feel incredibly safe. Dining on the sandbar at Nakupenda Island felt like a dream. Abdul, who was in training was also attentive and kind. This tour was everything we hoped for and more. The only downside is very lengthy and we didn’t get to experience as much of Stone Town as we would have liked because we were exhausted. But if you’re visiting Zanzibar, do not miss this experience!

I truly enjoyed this day trip! Nakupenda Beach is absolutely beautiful and the seafood lunch was delicious- this was my favorite part of the day! It was also great to see & interact with the aldabra tortoises at Prison Island, and learn about the history of the various intended uses for the island. The walk around Stone Town was also educational. Overall, a great excursion
