Maasai Mara National Reserve

Early breakfast at 6.30 am and Depart for a full day game viewing. This is the most important day since we are hoping to see the big five, especially the big cats which are extremely illusive. Also, we will visit the famous Mara River where the great migration happens, have a guided tour by the rangers to see the Nile crocodiles and hippo families and just to top it off have a picnic lunch under a tree in the park overlooking the vast landscapes. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. Dinner and overnight: Rhino Camp/similar

Where do I begin with Zazu Safari Ventures… Our guide Nathan was terrific and extremely knowledgeable about the animals and the park. He was very organized and always collected us in a timely manner for the game drives. Nathan respected our wishes as guests and ensured we had a unique safari experience by taking us to quieter locations away from crowds as we preferred. We saw four of the big five, on multiple occasions, regarding the Rhino, we will save that for our next trip. We even managed to get an intimate moment with a cheetah which came very close and was an extremely special experience. Joel has great organisation and is very helpful to ensure you have the best trip possible. Will be booking again.

We had a wonderful time with Zazu. They were flexible enough to adjust the itinerary based on our schedule/flight delays/flight schedule so that we wont miss any attractions. They are willing to assist and are always responsive with my messages. Masai Mara is a very beautiful game reserve. Visit is worth it. The itinerary is for 2 day visit to Masai Mara which means USD200/entry/person. If on a budget, I suggest just do 1 full day. Lake Nakuru game drive is as exciting as Masai Mara with the Rhino. Less flamingo though but the other colorful birds will suffice. We did add a boat tour to Lake Naivasha but kind of disappointed with less hippo seen. The Masai Village is also an add on which we also enjoyed and find to be interesting. Tips: Upgrade to 4x4 Land Cruiser and have it private to your group. Also, ask for possible upgrades on accommodation on Masai area. Bring extra $$$.
