Maasai Mara National Reserve
Have breakfast at 6:30 am and at 7 am, leave for a full day game viewing in the park. On this day, spend the full day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the big five, hippos and Nile crocodile. Thereafter, go for picnic lunch in park under a croton tree shade overlooking the vast landscape of the park. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and vultures.

This safari exceeded every expectation we had. From start to finish, we felt completely cared for, safe, and genuinely looked after. Our guide, Wycliff, was absolutely outstanding – knowledgeable, calm, intuitive, and clearly deeply experienced. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his ability to read the land and wildlife was incredible. We also want to thank William, who was assisting, together they made the whole experience seamless and special. In the Masai Mara, we saw everything. Every single day we encountered big cats. We had an up-close, clear sighting of a leopard, watched lions in the final stages of a kill and then feeding on a cow that had wandered from the Masai villages, and saw cheetahs, countless elephants, giraffes, and so much more. The sightings felt natural, unforced, and deeply respectful of the animals and environment. Lake Nakuru was equally epic, we saw three white rhinos, huge numbers of birds, and so many baboons and monkeys. The landscapes throughout the entire trip were breathtaking and constantly changing. Every day felt like a privilege to witness. The whole safari was excellent value for what we received, and the level of care, knowledge, and professionalism made it truly stand out. This wasn’t just a holiday – it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much to Wycliff and William for making this the trip of a lifetime. We will never forget it.
