Your Cusco to Manu tour begins bright and early, with a departure from your hotel in Cusco. We’ll handle all the transportation, and you’ll travel comfortably as we make our way towards the charming town of Paucartambo.

Paucartambo

Upon arrival in Paucartambo, we’ll stop for a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. From there, we’ll continue our journey, climbing to the Acjanaco mountain pass, where you’ll be treated to an incredible panoramic view of the vast Amazon Rainforest stretching out below—your first breathtaking sight of the tour. As we proceed, we’ll enter the Manu Cloud Forest, a lush and mystical environment where we’ll pause to try and spot the elusive cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird. Along the way, we might also encounter other fascinating species like capuchin monkeys, colorful parrots, and more.

Our journey then takes us further into the Manu Jungle as we descend towards Atalaya, situated along the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River. We’ll arrive around noon and enjoy a relaxing lunch by the river.

After lunch, we'll have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the diverse flora and fauna of the region. By late afternoon, we'll arrive at the TREEHOUSE INN, a unique and tranquil lodge nestled in the heart of the jungle. Once settled in, you'll enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge. As night falls, we'll embark on an exhilarating night walk, exploring the jungle in search of its nocturnal inhabitants. It's the perfect way to conclude your first day in Manu, with the sights and sounds of the jungle coming to life around you, creating an unforgettable experience.

On our second day, we’ll start early to visit the nearby Macaw Clay Licks. After a 20-minute walk, you’ll witness a stunning display of various birds gathering at the clay licks. Afterward, we’ll return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Next, we’ll embark on a two and a half-hour jungle walk, delving into Manu’s rich flora and fauna. Our guide will introduce you to medicinal plants, and we may encounter larger animals like tapirs. Lunch will be served back at the lodge, followed by some downtime to relax during the hottest part of the day. As evening falls, we’ll take a night walk around Caiman Lake to spot nocturnal wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner. You’ll spend the night at the TREEHOUSE INN, nestled in the heart of the jungle.

We'll start the day with a delicious breakfast to fuel up for the adventures ahead. Afterward, we'll set out on a three-hour walk through a private reserve, an ideal setting for spotting wildlife. What makes this experience truly unique is the small mountain nestled within the rainforest. You'll have the opportunity to climb it and take in breathtaking views of the surrounding jungle. After descending from the mountain, we'll return to the TREEHOUSE INN, where a delicious lunch made with local ingredients awaits. Following a restful nap, we'll set out in search of howler monkeys along the shores. Finally we'll return to the lodge for dinner. If you're up for more adventure, you'll have the option to join another night walk in the Manu Jungle, exploring the nocturnal wonders of the rainforest.

Return to Cusco

On the final day of our Cusco to Manu Tour, we'll begin with a hearty breakfast at the TREEHOUSE INN, savoring one last taste of the Amazon's unique flavors. Afterward, we'll make our way back to Atalaya, providing you with a final opportunity to soak in the sights of the Manu Amazon, and cherish the last glimpses of this incredible journey.

Once we reach Atalaya, a private transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. As we journey through the changing landscapes, you’ll have time to reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared in Manu.
