We really enjoyed the tour with Sherry. She has a lot of knowledge. Her English is very fluent. She knows where to go; such as the hill in the park to see the overview of the Forbidden city or more quiet places of the Palace. Take the time for the tour, about 3-4 hours and bring lots of water!

We hit the jackpot with Tim. He was the best guide we have ever had. He is wickedly smart., perfect English and he knew how to work with our diverse family. We adored him. He taught us so much and we were able to capture so much - including hidden nooks and crannies before the square and in the Forbidden City so we could maximize the experience and brave the crowds. He is a 20 out of 10!!!! Eager to explore more of China with him.

An English-speaking tour guide who really knows his stuff. Such a comprehensive tour if the Forbidden City with lots of stories about each place we visited. And the added bonus of Coal Hill at the end!

Forbidden Palace and its extensive grounds are an absolutely brilliant historical masterpiece that will transport you back in time. If you like museum treasures such as jewelry, decorative pieces of jade, gold and silver, the additional exhibition of the Treasury is essential! We did the tour without a guide, but we had done some research on our own before and didn’t feel like we missed anything important. Besides, having the freedom to go at your own pace was a real gift. Surprisingly, it is also quite wheelchair accessible. I definitely recommend it!

I took the Tiananmen + Forbidden Palace tour during the busy May 1st holiday and, as expected, both the square and the Palace grounds were teeming with people. Despite this, I had a great experience. Our group's had Jason as our guide. Great sense of humor and patience. Well prepared to answer questions about the history of the palace and various other details from architecture to garden landscaping and more. Nancy, the coordinator, supplied all the information I needed to get to the meeting point and helped me get in touch with the guide when I got derailed on my walk to the meeting point due to many streets being closed because of the May 1st celebrations. (Jason called me to make sure I was still able to join the tour and I really appreciated this ! I felt that both tried to make sure the guests had a great experience.) The group was small, 6 people, and was one of the best walking tours I have taken. It is a long tour 4+ hours, so be prepared. It is very hard, almost impossible to see anything inside the buildings because there is no illumination of any kind and the visitor barriers are too far from the entrances and windows, but the guide came prepared with pictures of the interiors so one could get a sense of what was inside. I have wanted to see the Palace for a long time and I was not disappointed.
