Your tour starts with the pickup from your downtown Xiamen hotel or Xiamen International cruise port if you arrive by cruise ship, travel with your local great guide and discover the city’s most interesting food market at Zen Cuo An Village, once a quiet finishing village , also known as the Chinese version of “ Tai-wan Shilin Night Market”, wonder along the old alley streets full of food stalls that sells and exhibits wide and spectacular street food from various barbecue sea food, famed Xiamen Shacha Noodle , Oyster pancake, pan-fried quid sticks ,shrimp ball ,tea and much more. If you are food adventurer, you may sample some local street food here. Different types of souvenir, trinkets shops are available for fun shopping.
The eighth seafood Market
Next enjoy a nice ride along the beach side to appreciate the beautiful coastal line of the city. Excellent Xiamen Food Market experience with Evelyn!

5.00We thought we knew Xiamen pretty well until Evelyn (who is by the way a local that has perfect English) met us at our hotel for our market walking tour. After only a few minutes, we realized there is so much more to learn than you get from walking the streets aimlessly, that only a great guide like Evelyn can provide. Sweet, fun, logical, and insightful, we strolled the neighborhood backstreets together as we learned from her about the people, the sights, and the fascinating, but very different, two small Buddhist temples we visited that were crammed between the many apartments and businesses below.. Part way through, we thought we'd seen and learned a lot and then we turned a corner and found ourselves immersed in their neighborhood market; a long, lit-up street, filled with wares and food stalls, where I bought a beautiful Chinese fan on which the stall owner kindly offered to write my name in Chinese characters. As we neared the end of the street, we turned another corner and found ourselves entrenched in an enormous market, filled with a thousand people and food stalls selling dozens of fruits, vegetables, and fish, the like of which we had never seen before! Now we moved quickly between stalls, excitedly asking Evelyn what each item was, trying samples, and eventually settling on a place to eat some of the items we were most interested in, while Evelyn continued to enlighten us about life in Xiamen and China. She was very fun and an excellent guide, giving us backstories to help us better understand the neighborhoods, the people, and the culture of the markets.

5.00Our guide was Cathy, a 12 year veteran of leading tours in Xiamen and it showed. She was an endless and fascinating source of information about the markets, the city, and the country as a whole. She picked us up at our hotel in a taxi bang on time. We started in the biggest street market where we walked through the stalls and stopped to have some dumplings. We then went to the temple near the University and climbed the mountain behind it. We next went over to the fishing village market and had some fun touring that. Cathy delivered us back to the hotel after about 4 and a half hours.

5.00My partner and I had the great pleasure of being shown around Xiamen by Xiong. Xiong was an excellent guide — he provided interesting historical and cultural commentary and helped us discover delicious and interesting local food.
