Kilim Geopark mangrove kayaking is located in the east of langkawi. The park is dominated by mangrove forests and picturesque karstic formation created thought the dissolution and erosion of the limestone from setul formation, which have produced numerous sea stacks, sea arches and pinnacles. The mangroves forests have created an environment for several rare species of flora and fauna such as the limestone cycad, which grows on vertical cliff faces, bright yellow sea hibiscus, and the iconic brahminy kite and sea eagles.

We had wonderful day kayaking through the mangroves with Hazril who was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife and very safety conscious while still making sure everyone had fun. We traversed the mangroves and some larger waterways finishing up with lunch on a floating restaurant after seeing eagles and bats. Bring plenty of sunscreen and insect repellant! We took our tour with 2 children (in double kayaks) and they had a great time, although they weren’t much help with paddling! You do need a reasonable level of fitness to get to the end, especially if the current isn’t in your favour.

This was a great experience. We got to explore bat caves, some fun boating, and an extensive kayaking journey that took us through two sets of mangroves, as well as across and along the river. We also got lunch afterward at a floating restaurant. The lunch was delicious, and their staff kindly showed us the fish they were farming. Hazril, our guide for the day, was fantastic. He was funny, helpful and taught us so much about Langkawi, including history and the flora and fauna. Hazril made the experience great - he was very good at catering to different levels of kayaking abilities within one group.

We went kayaking with the most amazing tour guide Hazril. He was so enthusiastic, giving detailed information about everything in a very humorous way and spreading good vibes. We couldn’t stop smiling! If you go for any tour in the mangroves ask for Hazril to get the best and enjoyable experience. You can feel that he really loves his job and the nature in Langkawi from the bottom of his heart. The tour itself was amazing. We saw a lot of different animals like kingfishers, a snake, otters, eagles and different fish. The kayaking is easy to learn and not too exhausting, even for beginners (we were first-timers too!). It is really worth it!

We explored the mangroves but it was low tide so it was a bit tricky in spots but doable. Our guide Hazlin was exceptional, friendly speaking very good English and very knowledgable. We saw many monitors and some bird life. The eagle feeding off the water was great! The Bat cave was having renovations so can’t really comment as most of it was closed. Take a broad rimmed hat and sun cream. Lunch was good.

We took a private boat for our trip and added the snorkeling option which was fun. Able to swim with the fish rather than sit on the boat and watch them. The bats are worth seeing on the trip.

Probably THE best kayaking tour in Langkawi. Such kind and professional tour guides I will always remember. Had a great time! Would definitely go again next time I visit Langkawi. Lunch was tasty and served with nice cold refreshing drink.
